Maybe we can get Bud Davis for this show, since he couldn't appear last year at TFCON Chicago?
No interest for me on con exclusives I just wanted to try my luck once for those elusive items on the list. Any idea if the vendors potentially carry Canadian / Europe variants?
The last one had a vendor that was dead center in the room that had a lot of cheap plastic shelving and he had a mix of just about everything from the late seventies up to the early nineties. He seemed to only deal in the old stuff. He had stuff I have not seen anywhere else including stuff from other markets. Some of it was kind of pricey but you can always try to haggle the price down; most vendors would rather sell the inventory than have to drag it back with them. Then there was the random piece(s) from other markets that would pop up here and there with other vendors; one smaller one had the South American Combaticon set from the early 80's (the one with colors that make G2 stuff look tame). That is the fun thing about the vendor room, you never know what will crop up or who.
Your making this place sound even more fun Any idea if they are mostly cash based or many accept cards?
Cash is king in the vendor room. You can usually get a better price with cash, the vendor does need to worry if the CC you handed them is stolen, there is no CC fee for the transaction, and they will not have as large a data plan hit on their cell phone. Also, if a vendor does not take CC they will loose a large amount of sales as some people do not carry cash or not enough to make all of the desired purchases.
Here is to hoping I can find many of the unique odds & ends I'm seeking there. I've had no significant luck within our community here so far. Most of my success has been through friends on vacation in Canada or Europe.
If anyone is in search of that dope 3A Knight Optimus, I'll have one MIB at TFcon!
