I should have clarified, I hoped this would have been popular enough to be a regular release rather than an exclusive.

 

As soon as I saw the name in the title I just knew it would be Bulkhead.

Between this, Ratbat, and G2 Grimlock, I picked a bad weekend to hafta replace phones and add a new line to my account I guess, because now I won't have any available funds.  

 

When it comes to MMC, everything is possible  

If it runs out in minutes, you can probably count on it becoming a regular release.

 

Almost anything is possible. And it's all good. I honestly can't wait until certain upcoming "main release" products are released and I can happily never care again that an announced "main release" MMC product is seemingly delayed by a string of convention exclusives that are chosen to be produced and have a must-hit, fixed deadline of being done in time to ship to the convention. In the meantime, it's all good. I don't want a lengthy discussion about this, it was just a passing comment observing just how many convention exclusives MMC chooses to do while their "main releases" get delay after delay. It seems highly coincidental for the delays to build up the same time every year in the months leading up to the Fall TFCon.

Adjusted that to how I see it. It's hard to believe there isn't some natural impact occurring there.   Anyway, moving on.

 

Love that those wanting a idw mmc bulkhead and ratbat(me included) will now have a chance at getting them, but it sucks that deathsaurus,tes,helix keep getting pushed back to release them. Wish mmc was better at giving realistic release dates for there MAIN projects.

 

I agree there's at least some overlap somewhere along the line. However this particular figure we saw years ago, so I'm guessing they were just waiting to pull the trigger until there was some down time to slide it in. They certainly didn't need to give us 3 exclusives at one con so they might have just been trying to stay busy because they're stalled on something else. Who knows? They've suckered me in for all 3

 

Wish this could have been a wide release. I think the previous two versions not selling well at all is what led to this decision being made.

Repaints don't impact release schedules. They are existing, done figures. Toys that are delayed are still actively being worked on. Saying they do isn't how it works.

 

Yeah, I don't see how repaints impact schedules given the repaints are part of the initial cost recouping plans.

And with con exclusives, again, they likely plan around having stuff for sale at conventions so it's not really taking slots from other product.

Looks really damn cool. I think the mold is a bit too athletic and long-limbed to really capture Bulkhead but this is still a cool homage to the character, especially given that he isn't from G1.
