I'm not staff, nor psychic, nor did I attend TFCon Chicago, nor do I have any loyalty to (or even visited) the following cities...but strategically speaking...IF I was to part of the discussion, I'd suggest:

    (in no particular order)
    -St Louis
    -Pittsburgh
    -Philadelphia

My reasons are they're major cities, and BotCon has never been there before.

    My secondary guesses:
    -Kansas City
    -Columbus

Since I didn't go, I'm living vicariously though your all stories. Please post more stories. Thanks.

Columbus would be BANGIN' if they showed up! Just run-of-the-mill toy shows get a few thousand - this? Total destruction. Or Cincinnati would be (most likely better) great as well.

Man, I just noticed all of my grammatical errors from my post.

I saw Cincinnati on the map, but BotCon has been there before.

I was looking for virgin territory for TFCon to make an impact on.

TFCon USA is a fantastic idea, but Chicago wouldn't have been my first choice had I been on the TFCon Council. But I do understand the significance of having it in Chicago. Plus it appears many people were happy with the location.

I would like to add a 3rd guess to my secondary guesses: Denver.
(again I do not have any loyalty to (or even visited) the cities that I am guessing for)

I can add some logic to the speculation/suggestions for a location. I talked to one of the organisers and he told me it has to be in driving distance of Toronto since all the staff are from there. Adding airfare to the convention costs would make it a financial disaster. So it'll stay in the north west quadrant of the country ifit does move around.

Having been to the last 5 TFCon Toronto shows and now the Chicago one I can unequivocally say that TFCon Toronto is a better show. That's not to say that Chicago was bad by any means but I think the organizers have the Toronto one locked down and the hype, convention set up and attendance for that one is far greater.

Still I was pleasantly surprised by how well Chicago went I'm just not sure I'd be willing to go every year to that show. For Toronto it's pretty much a must go annual event for me; almost on the same level as Botcon really.

Still kudos to the organizers on their first US convention. Hopefully it proved to be worth the time and effort on their end.

There is a lot of factors that go into picking the location. So many to list.

Hopefully it will be within driving distance for me again!
Or perhaps give me a reason to fly home to Nashville. <3

    Wow, really?

I was bummed I couldn't make it to this show I really wanted to attend maybe next year. I guess that all depends on the location though, I'm not planning on going to Botcon next year since I can only fit in travel for one show.

Chicago was a first year show, it's to be expected that it wouldn't be as big as Toronto which has been going on for years.
Come to Toronto, you will not be disappointed.
