Someday a 3P will make a CW compatible figure.

    Someday...

This was the most underwhelming TFCon "reveal" ever.

It was an amazing weekend to be a Transformers fan, so much new pics and stuff and from so many different sources. TFCon didn't really show anything new but a lot of nice updates

I'm guessing that the production rate that the third-party companies are capable of is not enough to support a burst of new reveals for each of the two TFCons per year.

That's one possibility. But I also think the blatant theft and copying that's currently going on is also a factor. MMC, for example, always used to have at least 3-4 new renders to show (I am sure they have a backlog of at least 10-15 figures in various conceptual stages), and the only new thing they showed was Ramhorn.

    True.

And the companies can create new design renders far faster than they can push them through the production pipeline. Then they run into the problem of having to manage customer expectations about a growing number of products that are years away from release.

Truthfully aside from CW Superion all the rest of the CW's were utter floppy messes, and the Hot Spot and Onslaught were by far the worst, those thigh joints stunk,my figures could't stand straight unless I secured them to something like a wire hanger with zip ties or something. So in the end I just took them all apart and just display them in their robot or alt modes, too much hassle.

But, of course, 3P companies can and do speak directly to us when ever they want.

I also don’t think that there’s that much KOing of all figures that that is why companies keep their designs close to the vest. Yes, it is there, but I think it’s mores that they don’t want competition from another company presenting another, competing render and diminishing preorders.

And, again, while there are a lot of KOs, there are not KOs of everything. It’s still a small fraction of designs that get bootlegged, so it’s also bit hyperbolic to blame the overblown “I’ll Wait For KO” crowd.

Unless you’re talking 1P figures. Then there’s a real and valid contingent of fans “Waiting for the KO” and they’re KOrrect to do so... :p

Also we never can tell what will be KOed unless it's an MP figure, which is a given and now all the SS stuff is getting the KO OS and upgrade treatment

Just catching up on the reveals and, for me at least, these things are just getting progressively less exciting for MP collectors. Fanstoys standing head and shoulders above everyone else but they're doing stuff that we already have decent renditions of.

As impressive as that stuff is we need Protectobots, Technobots, Predacons, Terrorcons and Battlechargers. Stuff no-one is doing.

And what the hell is Maketoys doing with Highbrow? It seems to have been at the same test shot phase for over a year now.

I was thinking last night how the lack of reveals may be part of something unusual meaning slower production of figures. In my guess with so many figures like Zeta Aerialbots,FansToys Skullcruncher,MakeToys Headmasters,XTB Neptune and more seem to be stalled or slow moving. In my opinion this looks like 2019 will be a very slow year for MP Style figures. With that said do you think there has been a shift from MP's to maybe Legends Size and other figure types because people have done filled their MP Collections?.

I for one am almost to my perfect MP Collection but I still need maybe 8 to 10 more before I am satisfied, then after that I plan to move onto something else like Beast Wars or even Legend Figs since some seem decent and reasonably priced, but what about you?.

No, wait, I'm wrong. Just rewatched the scene and no, he is the one that pulls the switch that drops victims to the Sharkticons. Memory is a fickle thing!

This year’s Customization Class featured Bombshell with Venksta parts to make an IDW Bob the Insecticon.

That one sample does look really good, so congrats to whoever made it.

But, I’m back to hoping that Hot Soldiers follows up their Hearts of Steel Bumblebee with an Insectitrain.

I don’t even think all Takara MPs get KOed, but enough to say most or at least a sizable plurality do.

Still, the Studio Series and other movie figures KOs are certainly prevalent and perhaps even more warranted to really finish a figure where HasTak’s budgeting left off.

For a con the prides itself on third party, surprised there's so little exciting to see. The trend continues. I'm sure the show itself is a blast at least.
