Didnt they say something like this about Animated and then turned around and canned it because of the movie and movie figures ?

thing is, we first had universe, then classics, then classics 2.0. then universe again, or some order like that, now its called generations.

its really all the same. so repaints from various lines and some new molds here and there will always kind of be the main line for all things transformers. in a year or 2 it will be called something else but same idea probably.

I hate these non-answers. They say they "look forward" to being able to give Canada the Hub. So we are getting it?

In fairness, they don't mention giving Canada The Hub at all, they only refer to giving Canada Transformers: Prime, which is a much, much smaller task than delivering an entire network to another country. I take this to mean "We're trying to find a way to get it on Canadian TV (since obviously they want the marketing of the show available as widely as possible!), but we don't have anything confirmed enough to make a promise or a statement yet."

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I assumed this...

related to feedback or market testing of figures, sort of like user acceptance testing, rather than...

It seems like had they gone out and let a clutch of kids and a couple of adult collectors dick around with the likes of Universe Galvatron before they slapped it on the shelf, they might have avoided an overall lukewarm consumer response for a mediocre figure. I know at that point it might be too late, as they've already forked out for design, development, etc. But did we learn nothing from the transforming skyscraper?

    So it's like Universe then.

You guys seem overly excited about something you already had.

Oh yeah, Generations is TOTALLY a catchall line: we've got Marvel, WFC, and IDW: THREE different flavors of G1! :p

Something will have to give next year: my money's on Power Core Combiners, but who knows what the retailers will do. If they want to, they could kill Generations before we even get what was shown at Botcon. Heh, wouldn't that be a pisser? Then all you G1 fans would know how the Animated fans felt.

i love how they talk about repaints and exclusives, and trying to get the best possible iteration of a character, yet we're getting two new packs with Sideways in them, that look incredibly similar to the original...

Sour much? I was a G1 fan and Animated I think alot of G1 fans liked animated so yeah I think alot of fans know how animated fans felt. Not to mention how many times classics was canceled then returned from the grave I'm sure they know exactly how it is.
