does the TFCC ever put their stories in trade format? I'm pretty interested to read this, but don't care much for joining the club

 

Updated with a teaser image of a new comic strip to be featured on the backpage.

There's a trade for the first two years, covering the Cybertron arc, called Balancing Act. Other than that I'm not aware of any trades so you'd have to hunt down back issues. Maybe if there were enough demand they could be collected though?

Yep. That's not new. In this ancient past storyline, the Combaticons were introduced as part of the EG. I wonder how that'll turn out.

 

That first trade is long out of print, just so you know. You'll need to go second-hand, for sure. It was published by IDW, but they haven't been involved with the subsequent years of the comic story, so they haven't been collected. Fun Pub occasionally make threats about doing so, though!

 

You know, Onslaught as an Autobot, I'd buy. Blast Off maybe too.

But Mr. Murder Machine Brawl? Unscrupulous cheater, only-profit-above-all Swindle? Sadistic interrogator Vortex?

Not a chance in the Pit.

Not to mention they took an original idea from Animated (the Elite Guard) and - were forcedly - shoehorned it into the G1 cartoon continuity. Yeah, those guy? Umm, they were always there as Elite Guards, we just never heard of that in the cartoon.

These Botcon and Collector's club comics often read like bad fanfics because, well... they ARE that.

 

Uh, do you even READ them? They're currently the only really good TF fiction out now since LSotW ended.

This is another continuity, so they can do whatever the hell they want.

 

I for one really like them, yet to date I have still not received my free toy. Anyone else having this problem?

Well, now we know more about the "Recordicons" comic strip. Too bad i'm no longer a TFCC member.

I read them, yup. It SO shows that they are not written by professional writers - the plot is drawn out, characters spout their tech specs, continuity inconsistencies... The typical flaws most starting writers make.

You should not even compare them to LSToW... That was a masterpiece.

But I agree with you, even these comics are MUCH better then the Costa Ongoing.

I have been informed by someone on message boards that this takes place in the G1 cartoon continuity. (Well I KNOW it cannot be the Marvel G1 comic for some obvious reasons). So, you say this is just another continuity they made up?

 

Excuse me if I sound rude, but does it really matter if the continuity is just made up? I mean the whole concept is made up anyway; Giant robots from space that turn into cars and trucks and jets?
