So I opened up my loose set of the 2013 box set and I was pleasantly surprised! Really nice looking set and for under $80, a steal!

Heck, I'm still tempted by the two of them.

I was going to try and get my son a botcon set for Christmas. At the current price there still a bit too much for something like that. After the 90% off would have taken effect it would have made that way more palatable for me.

Now those that do buy this set, Caveat emptor!! there is an (apparently well known) issue with Hoist that prevents his chest from folding in correctly. After much struggle I found the solution online but no tutorial. I messed mine up and ended up just removing the offending piece and everything seems fine but if someone could point to a better guide, that's be great!

    As is:

you will need to unscrew the three screws on the back panel (One in the center, two at the shoulders) please note that the shoulder screws are smaller! Red is the Torso Screw, Green is a shoulder screw

once the back is opened, remove the small piece with a spring on it, this is what's causing the issue.

Now you're supposed to rotate this and put it back in but :
    A: that's a major pain in the ass :)
B: I dropped mine whilst taking it out so I have no idea what the correct rotation is :)

Looking over my pictures it seems like they are saying that the tapered side should be pointing out. I admit, I'm a little lost at this point

mine seems fine with it out but I may be missing something that will cause Hoist to self destruct in 30 days soooo, yeah.

For all the negativity surrounding that set, I enjoyed all but Megaplex. Just not a fan of the mold. Colors were great though. I messed around with that set more than any other year too. Love the mold used for Skywarp and Thundercracker. Just an FYI, Hoist has his shoulder swapped to the wrong sides. You'll need a pin punch to fix it. Maybe just a hobby knife if you don't mind a little cutting.

Would anyone be interested in the Pretender Optimus shell? I already sold the Megatron shell, and the Optimus one doesn't do much for me.
Shoot me a PM if you're interested!

I bought the set JUST for Obsidian. That dude rules. Although I wish they had gone with their original idea of that bright green deco.

I'd say go for this set even if there is only one or two that are of interest, for the price (77.80) you get 5 toys. that's $15.56 per figure! And that's for exclusives :D

if they get down to 90% off then, wow. $8 a figure. You cannot go wrong!

If I bought a MW set, would anybody want my Hoist, Thundercracker, or Megaplex?

Only reason I’m not biting on it is because I have a better obsidian and strika (in my opinion), but if it hits 90% I just might
