I wonder if anyone kept a final price on these items before they sold out. That would help provide a benchmark for some people looking to buy on the resellers market.

If they're sold out, there's not really a benchmark anymore, is there?

I don't know if it's really relevant now. Once something has sold out then the original price is irrelevant, the value is now however much you want to spend on it. If it sold for $30 that's ok for you to determine if someone is making money hand over fist but the sad fact is that you cannot purchase it for $30 anymore. You have to decide if whatever price they are asking is fair for you.

You can't even know if the seller is making money unless you know when they bought it.

In general, the market value for "minor" exclusives has hovered around $30 and the value for "hot" exclusives is $60-100. I don't see that changing very much except maybe going up a bit unless Hasbro starts creating an outlet for oddball exclusives like a Transformers Lootcrate deal or something.

I would subscribe to a Transformers Lootcrate. Lets say $40 a month for an exclusive (repaint) deluxe, a t-shirt, a pop, and some other minor stuff? Maybe 2 times a year its a voyager? Make them less inspired Botcon style repaints maybe? That'd be fun

That's what the TFC Subscription Service kind of tried to be...except is was three $100 payments plus shipping. Very cost-prohibitive, really, for what you were getting.

That said, I'd be down for $40/month to get an exclusive Legends or Primemaster repaint, t-shirt and random swag...which would be much more in line with that pricing.

For what its worth I thought the Subscription Service was an excellent concept, but at $300 for the set, paying it all up front and having to be a member already there was too much against it. A quarterly $30 subscription with offerings like Arcee and Grotusque would be excellent.

$25 per figure (more for larger ones I'd assume) is something I'd sign on to for at least PotP if it means getting more figures like Grotusque/Arcee but as combiners.

I'm set up for email announcements...so no stalking needed. I really don't expect a drop until next week, though.

I'm not going to pretend I know what the heck they're going to do, but I can't imagine they are going to want to set themselves up for a huge influx of orders 3 days before Christmas. Most people like to not be working around the holidays. A week beyond that is too close to the 31st. I don't really see how they don't do this today.

But I'm sure they'll find a way to surprise me yet again!

On the other hand, waiting until the last minute to price drop means more sales at 80% rather than 90% as folks get skittish. I fully expect e-tailers to scoop up any remaining toys...so if they were to wait until Dec. 28th to do the final drop, they certainly could. And just because they can't sell stock on the store doesn't mean there aren't other options for the rest of the stuff...like ebay.

I'm not really a fan of the Loot crate "random junk in a box" approach to a sub service. Especially since we'd just get nothing but pop vinyls, button, and stickers from something like that.

Yes funpub's figure sub service was stupid expensive. Likely due to the way their license with Hasbro worked.
With Hasbro themselves taking over costs could be kept reasonable. As shown with Arcee and Grotusque. So I'd be down for a six figure sub service similar to them. Just keep toys r us far far away from the project

As long as we were guaranteed an exclusive toy in every box, I could look past the clearance junk that comes with it. Just keep vinyls out. POPS...I just don't get those things.

So,is anyone actually still looking at the site? I've gone from the previous refreshing every 15 minutes and getting up at 7am just in case to "oh yeah, I'll have a look" about 5 minutes ago as my first check!

I'm still refreshing, but not nearly as often as a few weeks ago.

    This has gone beyond tiresome.

You can pretty much tell by the lack of activity on this thread that people have gotten tired of being jerked around by this sale.
