I was planning on joining this year. Glad I'm still going too. I miss the first release of Hot Shot so this will be a better chance and freebie no less.

I think thats the point he's pointing out the pointlessness of re painting a red tf red. Of course the fact his head and chest are a really close match for the cartoon over ride that to me, head painted blue grey parts in blue and shins and it would be pretty spot on.

Also its not like they did something crazy like that before and repainted jetfire into another white jet TF.

Well, after reading the feedback I see that some people like it and some people don't... However, this is just the start of the announcements and we will have more for you on Dion next week!

Anyone who thinks we just pick things willy nilly are, well, WAY off the mark. We put a TON of thought into the whole process. There are several reasons we picked this mold and this character. First and foremost, this character is someone whom we can really explore. We have said all along that the Wings Universe is a "G1esque" cartoon continuity. Lots of similarities between this one and the toon Universe. However, we did not want to be constrained by all the back story that we have with the toon so we can have a little more fun exploring his character as well as some others.

Drew rocks! And I think a lot of people who say tha magazine is lacking have not been members for quite awhile. As editor, I work hard every issue to make every page is not just original content, but content that is exciting and leaves you wanting more. We also do our best to put as much "story" out there as possible!

The 2010 story is going to be a wild ride. This one will go straight to the core of the Autobot/Decepticon conflict as we are introducing some characters who have never been seen before in this manner. A whole new take on the early days of the war from a whole new perspective... And again. From what little bit we saw of Dion in the cartoon, you all will finally get to see this character flushed out!

Yes, I am going to be "that guy" for a sec. :lol

    flesh out/flush out

Considering how often many of us pay $40-$60 for an exclusive or an imported deluxe, the year of club mags + the toy + Botcon discount IS a good value - for US folks, anyway. The only thing with absolutely no value in the entire process is the Master Collector, but people have been telling Brian that for years and he's not hearing it.

So yeah, been a member since day one, and next year is no exception. Keep up the good work!

The red/blue Hound digibash reminds me of the Captain America Transformer.

That Hound would wind up weird color-wise in jeep mode. Good thought though.

Sounds very promising, Pete! I always thought the very early days were never explored to their fullest extent. I assume the Botcon 2009 exclusives will be making appearances given that it looks like we're in that universe, then?

Actually, buried somewhere in this news is also info that Master Collector is going bye-bye and is being replaced with an online auction site. Works for me!

I've been around just as long as well myself. While I may be a bit of a packrat at times, I have no problem sending the Master Collector to the recycle bin within about 10 mins of my skim. I absolutely can not stand that Master Collector is part of the whole package.

Regarding the "magazine" is just that - it doesn't feel like a full "magazine". I THOROUGHLY enjoy what we have in terms of content, it's just so short :(

I dunno. I think it works pretty well. I did change it slightly. Originally the split went straight down that diagonal line. I thought it would look a little more interesting this way.

And here's the original with the slight change.

That is not a bad match for primes alt mode either, could totally see that a younger version. Although I know some people are saying ravage as SG but but what about a pre prime roller, although the only name I can come up with is prowler.

Thanks for the update Pete. So we've seen Punch/Counterpunch and Dion, will the 3rd figure be revealed this week?

And will the 2010 story still feature the Nexus Prime bots or is their story done?
