I agree with what others have said. It's the eyes. They're too far back, and in general the angles are far more relaxed. It just doesn't look impressive or threatening - too playschool :-/

    oh thanks man.

I really think it looks pretty close. and we all know that how something translates in art doesn't mean it'll be exactly like that for toy form, especially when its not an entirely new mold and that head has to be made to fit the existing body. I'm quite satisfied with his look.

Hoping it's just a bad angle, but that pic isn't doing it any favors. And still not sure why they changed the hexgon spots from the way Derrick intended.

Yeah, the eyes look better moved up, but it's still a sweet toy.

I have to say, the vehicle mode looks better, at least.

Still not getting it, but I hope Ramjet and Side Burn look better than there photoshops. I was already sold on them before hand, but them looking even better wouldn't hurt.

As a cheetor fan, I'd get it, but would look forward to someone making a replacement head and maybe give him some proper weapons.

Well now I don't feel as bad about not being able to afford getting this.

Yeah, that head sculpt is garbage. That's like a bad kitbash made out of playdough.

I think the Cheetor pic is partly a bad angle.

What I think is throwing it off in part is the nose - if you notice in the art, it's wider than a lot of TFA noses due to the catlike nature it's emulating. It's not really clear in the toy image, but the nose is ending where it meets the eye and angling to form a brow.

I think a lot of this is the bad angle - because the nose is wider, it's also covering more of the other side of the face sculpt from that angle. Eg, you can't see the other eye due to the wide nose, but if you squint you can JUST barely make out the other eye.

Also detracting from the sculpt due to the angle/size of the picture is that the forehead crest looks wider than it actually is due to how it's overlapping with the side crest -the lighting is causing the two to blend to the point where it just looks like one massive crest.

I like Cheetor and Blurr's mold is one of the few Animated toys I think is good...but I'm really not digging it. Pass.

I imagine that the other thread (the one that explicitly says "Cheetor") was locked as being redundant to this one. That's fine, but could we at least change the title of the thread so that it actually says Cheetor now? I wouldn't necessarily come here looking for Cheetor discussion. I'd come here for speculation.

I'd honestly love to see the wax sculpt that the TFCC did up.

I wonder how different the head looks from different angles - didn't Derrick say he'd seen the head prototype back after they had him on the podcast when Cheetor's art was revealed? He seemed to like it.
