Dam that blot is bad
Better, but still missing MAJOR features like "head in FRONT of body, not on top of body". (and, possibly/presumably, an arm-mode)
Yep, head's still too high.
And he still has four too many toes. And ears. And a nose horn. Keep trying.
I know these are styled differently but Blot has a bland alt mode. Dull down the points.
Definitely better... is his snout a grinder/rocker crusher assembly? Im seeing 2 snot saws and a little chin spinner.
If we can raise his shoulders, then it won’t be so bad.
There's nothing redesigned about it. The ears are folded down, which does make him look better. That's all.
This looks truly horrible.
The knees are very subtly different, and the tip of the snout is definitely different.
The buzzsaw snout needs to be replaced with a flat, angular one. Thats my only real complaint
Anyway I have no problems with this one.
Well, actually I do want them to lengthen the arms on the bot mode. But I am fine with monster mode.
I personally like very much this new interpretation of Blot. I don't expect it to look G1, I have Troll for that.
Yeah, I don't need this to be G1. It's already got an organic look to it so it wasnt going to fit that slot anyway. This is "close enough" for me to be happy.
Can't say I agree here. I like that he's different and doesn't look like a deformed, hunchbacked creature. Love the creative differences as well the more detail (seriously folks, despite all of you 80's simple look purists, a great amount of details is never a bad thing).
Here's the thing. Some people will keep saying: "I don't mind creative interpretations", etc, etc, and then they get handed something like this, and they are like ... "no".
Read the above again and see how contradictory that is.
What you guys really want is GeeWun with more details. Well this is not it. FansToys will provide the GeeWun stuff, and XTB will provide the toy stuff. If this thing is just rehashing those, what's the point?
Eh, I don't think it's purist, I think it's making the figure look recognizable. Again, if they had released just a picture of the grey beast mode test shot with no context, my first thought would be Scowl of the Monstructor team.
And for two weeks before any further information was released, I'd be excited at the idea that the FP Beastructor team may finally drop in price.
As much as I like TFC's Sinnertwin, Blot just seems off mark in what makes Blot the character.
Pretty sure that Toy Story's Bullseye partially shown. It's recognizable.
I'm all for more detail in the design. Just put his head in the middle of his chest too, and I’m good. Each of the Terrorcons have fairly distinct looks, and Blot with his head on top of his shoulders is like Hun-grrr with three heads, or Cutthroat without his wings. It changes his silhouette too drastically.
Matter of perspective. Several will recognize him as Blot (again, with creative differences). Others who seem to prefer a more original look will say "What the hell is that thing?", in part by not liking the deviation.
I support this reinterpretation, but I agree that most people wouldn't recognize him as Blot ..... without his colors.
Now some people might say: "then any bipedal monster can serve as Blot". There's always that risk, but then again I am sick of the same look done 50 different ways. Sometimes a change is good. Gives your collection a different look.
