Well what I think would really suit the theme of this particular set best


Although, it seems like TFC's MO is "G1-inspired, but stylized" without any big deviation from what G1 did.

Abominus is a beast, a combiner made from cannibalistic monsters, I say give him a giant spiked ogre club.

 

I always liked the idea of him with an axe. I have trouble envisioning a club wielding robot

 

I think either work better for Abominus than the generic big gun every combiner had in G1.

Really though, I imagine him mostly as a bare-handed berserker (although like I said, this particular set, with the heavy robo-demon motif, I like a scythe or trident).

 

Of all combiners I do think that Abominus should have a melee weapon the most. Made of monsters and just a beast of pure fury.

 

Not that hard, something like this mace design with the energon spikes, but as an ogre club.

 

I’m not great with paying attention to all of the names, but I think I have all of the same combiners as you, which is quite coincidental, given the sheer variety of combiners out there.

That's a great looking and stylish set of different combiners if you ask me! I'm sorely tempted by Shuraking. Left it too late for MMC Inventa but these are generally some of my favourite representations of these characters aesthetically.

 

I have very similar sentiments for combiners and almost match what you have.
I just personally stop at Piranacon but include Raiden and the Trainbots.
Along with Superion, they are the only two I'm missing. Although I am in for Zeta's version of Raiden, despite the simplicity and size of the bots and combiner.

For some reason I can't get behind DreamStar's Superion yet. I think I'll wait to see what else comes up. If GT has him in the pipeline, the benefit will be the time to save up for him. But it's also going to suck waiting a decade to complete him!!

I do think Warbotron's Computron is underrated. He's a fine combiner!

How about an axe?

 

Finally had time to play with my Cuttroat/Lucifer and I'm loving it. Transformation is familiar but with novel touches, complex enough to be fun but not frustrating. Solid in both robot and monster modes. I love the way the wings look like jagged panes of shattered glass, and their numerous points of articulation will offer plenty of posing options in both modes.

Nitpicks are few: One "tail"piece pops off too easily, itshard to open mouth without removing upper beak, would have liked some neck articulation in beast mode, and there doesn't seem to be a way to use the gun in bird mode.

Overall these are minor and I am very satisfied with what I have. To be honest, Cutthroat, Sinnertwin, and Rippersnapper are so good, it is hard to fathom how Blot came out such a mess.

 

Yeah, hopefully they will not mess Hun Gurr up.
