So.. what does this upgrade kit offer other than slightly different aesthetic?

 

Missiles.

 

Yep, even with BBTS standard shipping.
Not sure what's going on with Baba's pricing.
Plus we know BBTS is not likely to raise their price.

 

But we don't know when BBTS will actually get it. That's my hesitation with BBTS.

 

Got the upgrade set installed, the new head looks better but the chin of new head is bigger and sits too low, the head is now always tilted upward, does not look down...

 

I finally decided to splurge on this after selling a few items recently.

I found it available with Netclow for $170. I think that is close to the original price, right? It was always expensive. I don't expect a drop in price. It has sold too well. Correct me if I am wrong.

I went with the red/blue colors as it will most likely go in my small Optimus Prime collection, but the camo does look great.

Wait, what? The original comes with missiles too.

What is different about the new missiles?

Ok I found this... anything else? Weird the original missiles were not removable.

If the missiles he has here in the prototype are the only ones he comes with, the visual difference is pretty obvious.

Thank you for trying to help fellas, but I might be more confused now.

Are those the missiles he comes with? Inferring from what the next poster shared I don't think they are. They might have changed them before the first release.

So the old missiles are on the left and the new are on the right? They look similar in size when sheathed, but one set is removable and actually a shorter missile with a more sharpened cone.

If anyone can address this inquiry with a simple explanation I promise I won't bother anyone here anymore. Or did I solve the mystery myself?

I agree. The original face looks preferable to me.

 

@ChucklesLastLaugh yeah you figured it out.   The new head comes with the missiles on the right.

New headsculpt. Original version had lightpiping, new one was painted. Still set too deep in the head and not bright enough to see the paint from a distance.

 

Just got the camp version today, and it’s an amazing beast. One minor issue: I’m having trouble getting the abs piece to tab in. Any trick to arranging it so it tabs in correctly?

 

If I remember correctly theres a thin panel under the chest that unfolds first. Not shown well in the instructions

Any recos for places to get the V-2 Missile upgrade the cheapest to the US? Has to be instock so not really counting BBTS. Though I was hoping TCP would get them in stock.

Yes, that's a little more than what US retailers are pricing it at, but both places ship it for free, so it evens out. They're both reliable as well.

 

Thanks so much. I'm not to familiar with ShowZ. 20.69 works. BBTS and ebay charge me 8.895% tax for NY so I don't mind this at all.
