This community is fantastic.
That's exactly what I'm doing. They look alot better. I can post a couple of shots later.
Haha, yeah! Us TFC collectors gotta stick together!
Nice, I'd be very interested to see that, too!
BBTS's clearance promoted me to finally get these guys. I initially went with Guardia, who looks a lot better IMHO, but is just too damn small.
It looks more proportionate like the OS Silverbolt with the regular limbs does.
This is what I can say about prometheous.
If my collection was voting. I think it's safe to say prometheous would be a strong contender for "most likely to be replaced"..... but I'd have no problem handing him off to my 10 year old as an actual toy. the fact that I could envision it withstanding the rigors of play like a hasbro figure..... is the greatest compliment I could hand this toy I think. If you can get this for on deep discount, why not
Also the reprolabels set is a must for this team
Finally someone has done it! Been waiting to see this for a VERY long time. How big is it in relation to CW Devastator/OS feral/os Warbo now (if you have any of them of course)?
Looking forward to seeing Blades attached.
Here is him with OS Warbotron, don't have CW devy as i don't like the look and it would take to much time to rearrange the detolf's to compare to OS Feral or Nero. He's about a head short of OS Warbotron.
That works for me. Defensor always seemed like the smallest of the combiners to me.
My wallet hates you. Cheers bud
$200 is so tempting
Yeah, I have no illusions here, he's a placeholder, but until GT or MMC get off their feet Prometheus is the Defensor that scales best with Warbotron/Ordin/Gravity Builder/other TFC combines/Feral Rex/etc. In other words, most of my collection.
Got this guy a few days ago and really like him. The transformations are pretty intutive, the amount of weapons and the ability to scramble city style the limbs really gives you a lot of display options. He's pretty sturdy and pegs are super tight, getting the energon connector pegs on to attach the legs however is a bear. The main issue is you can't hold on to the thighs to push the pegs in as pushing them down hides the pegs. So you have to push from the hip and making it challenging to get the peg in solid. Even when you think one is in it can pop back out when attaching the other leg or moving the knee ratchet. But once the pegs are in it holds a pose really well. Glad I got him.
Temptation got the better of me! Now if only all sets were this affordable...
So Kapow recently got this back in stock and relatively cheap and as I still have the oversized KO Hotspot I thought why not:
He doesn't look so roided with the bigger torso, next up is to work on giving him longer/thicker thighs and finish off the legs. Should be around the 17" mark when I'm done all being well
Just out of curiosity, I know you've done some extensive work with oversized and custom combiner parts. Do you know if the oversized Feral Rex torso would work with the MMC limbs?
I sold my original Rex long before the OS came out so couldn't answer that. Would really fix his forced proportion/perspective issues out though wouldn't it.
It really would look nice.. I just did a quick photoshop to see how it'd line up proportionally. I'm pretty sure it'd require some sort of peg adapter to make it work, without having to shave off plastic though.
Sorry guys for waking the dead thread, but today I was at ShowZ and they have TFC Promethius (Complete Set) for $190 + free shipping.Even tho I think he looks far better than Hasbro's CW Set and the price is Awesome I just can't hit that buy button.I have 5 or 6 other figures I have to pay for in the mext month or two,so until these others are paid for these will have to wait, but those who want these you should go there and get them.Later guys.
BBTS also has it, though for 10$ more
Prometheus TFC Figure - Set of 5
I saw that deal too, and debated for a while.
But since I already have the C+ add-on for CW Defensor, plus I might buy the YM OS KO MT guardian set (if it's complete), so I decided to skip this deal.
