    That said, I did get a KO Hulkie the other day in hopes Incan kitbash PCC ports on the limbs for my PCC Sledge.

    Now I see. Thanks! These guys don't have individual bot modes, right? I'm stoked for the MasterMade version if they ever decide to move forward with it.

    I like my Ares quite a bit. Sad to say that with limited shelf space he was remanded to the ol' storage tub until he gets re-upped in the next quarterly shelf cleaning. My only criticism would be loose joints and therefore stability issues. Otherwise he's great.

    Is there an add-on that fixes stability for TFC Ares? I can find stability improvement add-ons for old TFC Combiners such as Hercules, Uranos, Hades in Shapeways and so on, but I can't find only one for Ares...

    Whatever answer you get, know that it's simultaneously worth it...and not. I was recently on the fence about getting a gift set of the Hasbro POTP Predaking for cheap...but after much internal debate I decided nah. I already had my big boy Ares here and he is hands down a 400% improvement on beast and bot modes. And while combined mode has the expected TFC wobble, and it's a bit finnicky to put him together, it's still loads better than the lanky brick that Hasbro put out.

    I dunno, to each their own. I personally love TFC Ares, others prefer the MMC or UT, and now even Cang but that's such a different paradigm. You gotta choose what's right for you.

    Also, I'm very excited about Cang's mini-Predaking, my next long term combiner FTW!

    Oh absolutely to this!

    At one point believe it or not, I had Ares, Rex, and War Lord all at the same time (just weird timing and situation) and Ares was my favorite. Being younger and not so smart I sold it and now I definitely want to get it back. A very fun set when I had it!

    Sweet. Welp, turns out that Hasbro gift set sold out anyway so at least it went to some folks that really wanted it. Meantime I'll be happy with the Sultan of Chonk up on my shelf :)

    Sold last year. But yeah, I agree that Ares is a case where the whole wasn't greater than the sum of the parts, but the individual parts were good enough.

    No worries! And yeah it is nowhere near perfect but has its charm.

    I managed to find one that’s in near perfect condition so all is well!
