Also, problem, not with Hypnos thankfully but with the spear/staff/nunchaku. I managed, in a burst of excess enthusiasm while trying to put it in nunchuck mode, to pull apart the place where the chains that attach to the two end portions connect. Any way to fix that?

 

Step 1: Put the thing back together like a spear.

Step 2: Pull it apart again, but this time from an oddly tighter seem closer to the spear tips.

It's a known issue, but because it pulls apart so easily from the wrong seem the solution is often overlooked.

 

That works even if the thing is pulled into three pieces? As in, the chain is no longer connecting them.

Also, don't follow step two, no offence.

 

Step 2 is what keeps it from coming apart and is the way it's supposed to work.

 

Yes. There's a total of four seems on the shaft, two per side. One seem is where it's supposed to come apart, and the other seem was for assembly. For whatever reason, the assembly seem is easier to pull apart than the the other one, so everyone is pulling the spear apart, having the chain come out, and assuming that it's busted. It's not really busted, though, it's just not where you're supposed to pull it apart.

Do or don't as you like.

 

No, I didn't understand what you meant by the second step. The problem isn't that the spear is split in the wrong place, it's that the chain is not connecting them. As in, I can separate it into three discrete sections.

I get you now. OK, so you've got three pieces, right, two spears with chains dangling from them and one empty tube? Take the spear ends, and pull on the ends with the chains. They should come apart, and you cap them back onto the middle tube piece.
