Video Review of the TFC Toys; Phantom (part one of Uranos) - YouTube
Nice, except for the faceplate. Cartoon accurate faces with blue optics look much more lifelike. This guy reminds me of some sort of drone.
Well as i touched on in the video, to me, this is more of an homage to how the vintage toy looked as opposed to the animation model. To each their own i guess when it comes to preferences.
Thanks nice review. I'll be picking mine up this week.
Ugh, those ratchets.
Nice review, but you had the wings mistransformed the entire time. The wing tips point slightly upwards.
Nice review, you basically confirmed all my hesitations and biases about this figure. I guess I'll wait for the next Superion.
Yep. Nice review, but I am not feeling this one. I still dig my Hercules though.
Glad to see the comparison with silverbolt - that does work pretty well.
I wouldn't exactly say "mistransformed" lol but you're right, i've been notified about the angling many times already.
Just a heads up way in advance but on a Harrier the entire wing angles downwards, a lot. TFC doesn't even get their own jet modes right most of the time--which IMHO says a lot about their research.
When you talk about the plastic quality... would it feel like the plastic that has been used by HasTak in the Prime RiD line or Fall of Cyberton line? Like Prime RiD Soundwave or FoC Shockwave? Kind of thin and light? Thanks for the review.
haha thank you for that Maybe i should get someone to be my aviation expert to teach me this stuff so people don't complain too much in the future
Ironically nearly every pic of G1 Slingshot is wrong too--wings straight instead of angled down. But the G1 fig has a bump molded in just the right spot to "catch" the wings at the proper angle. But no one seems to notice or use it.
...it'll be a Heavy Labor to have to unscrew than lube up this Uranos bot's um... crotch...
Bad puns are bad puns.
Joking aside... thinner plastic... the jet kibble pegs are scary fragile it seems... looks like we have QC with the leg joints yet again... so yea... definitely waiting a year for these to all come out and see if there's a "Rage of Uranus" set... and odds are we'll get a 5-pack release for these at some point...
It looks like he has the same combiner pegs as herc. Hopefully tfc makes future combiners have a scramble city combining style.
Thanks for the review! Phantom looks good, but needing to lube the ratchets in its crotch makes me hesitant to buy one. I love the look of it overall, but will wait to see the finalized Superion before I make a decision. Also, hopefully there will be a second release down the line that corrects the few design quirks Phantom seems to have.
arrrgh squeaky ratchets i think the thinner lighter plastic will probably make this easier to pose in the combined mode ...i love the sturdy feel of the herc bots plastic but in combined mode it makes very top heavy and hard to pose
