Saw these on toydojo. Are these the smaller deluxe-sized sets? They're both priced at $70. Is that a good price?

Looking pretty good! I thought about doing something similar with my set but then heard Make Toys was going to do their own Defensor as their next project. I figured I'd maybe just wait for that instead but after seeing some pics of some great mods by fellow collectors, I may have to revisit this idea again.

This has probably been covered in the past 60+ pages, but I'm curious why this Rescue team and the Star Cats Dino team are so CHEAP. I know they're loose, but even so, these guys are a fraction of the cost of other 3rd party combiners, and they don't look to be a whole heck of a lot smaller. What gives?

TFSource is now carrying them. Like this thread they still call them "Star Cats" which is not their name.

One of the pilots is named Star Cat, but the series is called Star Rescue Team.

It would be like calling all Star Wars toys "Sky Walkers".

 

I found some figures of the animal cartoon characters, pics. But they were over a year old so only a few left.

 

Yeah, those are from the show that was the one before "Star Rescue Team". "Adventures of Star Cat---Venturing in Starry Sky". Every year or so there is a new series based in the same universe, each one more elaborate than the next.

There was also at least two other series before that. You can tell each is different because the animation is more kiddie with each old series.

 

Are they of KO-quality or do they feel decent?

I'm tempted to get it almost for Not-Swoop alone, but if they feel KO-ish I'm not going to feel good about it.

 

I've got both sets, deluxe rescue and Dino's and they are solid and in no way feel cheap and K.O. quality. They're all well designed and fun. Need a little lov here n there but for the price they are awesome. Not-swoop is my fav of the dino team once up swap a few things round tho. You won't regret buying em I promise

 

Waiting on mine to arrive still, ordered it a week ago.

Is it me or does the larger version look like a KO version of the smaller one? I mean from what I've seen picture wise and one video review about them, it really seems to look like it's a knock off of the smaller set which seems to be far superior.

Anyone know of anywhere else to get this?

I know TFsource has it for preorder but it got bumped back. Ebay has a couple but for about 30 bucks too much.
