Isn't that exactly what this is? :lol  The shell pieces totally could be assembled into a vehicle that's separate from the bot.

Exactly. I don't get the whining at all when I'd bet most of these folks have either a ToyWorld, New Age, and/or Magic Square Devastator, just to list some obvious examples.

I'm a huge fan of Spino's designs, but there's the reality of converting a 2D drawing into a physical object that needs to articulate and transform. Even if Spino had carefully thought out which piece of kibble goes where, and how the figure transforms, it's still 2D art. Considering the works of magic we've seen in transforming a drawing (e.g., MMC's figures of IDW art) or a complicated CGI model (e.g., any of the Michael Bay characters) into a transforming toy, I think the sky is the limit for the quality of the transformation for a toy based on art or CGI that wasn't intended to transform perfectly.

If Spino's designs had gotten the same attention of, say, MMC in adapting the IDW art, or DX9 and Unique Toys (look at their black magic transformations for Galvatron, Hot Rod, Lockdown, etc.), then maybe this figure could have been better?

But, yeah, too much parts-forming and shell-forming for me.

I think if this had been designed as a male figure there would have been more integration of the alt mode panels into the body. But, with it being designed as a female figure and wanting to keep the proportions more dainty we are stuck with it being a shellformer. It either had to be the way it was done or having a shit ton of little panels to fold up into the body and it still wouldn't have the svelte body it has now.

it has never been the proportions of the fembot but the shape and size of the vehicle, but whatever, still they didnt do a good job, also spino's design was more asymmetric, not that it would have changed anything about the partsforming though

a little misleading that both videos so far show her with two mini-guns when she only comes with one. Really looking forward to this, specially with how triggered and seething people are getting over her lol

Quite a fun figure. Seems pretty sturdy, and I dont mind the look with kibble attached, but without makes it easier to pose. IMG_20221117_222020.jpg

Just got her today. A good heft with reasonably tight joints, but hips are slightly loose because of the die-cast ball joint/plastic socket combo. Plugged her side skirts to her thighs to give her an armored look, and it does not hinders her posability one bit.

Well mine showed up today. Apparently there's a 1 in 30 chance you will receive a "secret" version made entirely of clear plastic... seriously.
Already asking showz if I can return it or something. 20221129_162816.jpg 20221129_162803.jpg 20221129_162756.jpg

@LE0KING dang! cool and not cool at the same time! :p  This is a rare time, I wouldn't like a RARE figure...if they only used clear parts that had pink tones...100% clear...not so much.

Glad i didnt get that Rare transluscent version... i hate clear plastic figures lol

The figure is pretty nice, the quality is over the top fo rht efigure, but the pannels that makes up the car are a bit flimsy and... omg that transfomration drives me crazy, all those weak pannels popping out left and rights... i cant beleived how GOOD the transformation went in the video... altho i had to film 3 times before getting it right lol

Got mine from @SirToys right here: Mini EV Nebula - 3rd Party - SirToys.com

    Enjoy!

The roof is worryingly thin. It'll probably hold up with proper care, but it does bow a little bit when you put some force on it. Otherwise yeah, I say this with all the love I have for this little thing, but she's an RID Sideburn in robot mode, and even more of a shellformer than Big Convoy himself. The alt-mode is a coffin that the robot curls up into, with no part of the robot being used as part of the car. You can even take all the car parts off and build the car. Even the mom and dad of shellformers Big Convoy and Thunderblast had something contribute to the alt-mode, but that's not the case here. They wanted a cute robot girl that could turn into a car but also be a stand-alone action figure if wanted, and in that they succeeded. I just wish she came in other colors besides pastels. Even white would have been preferable, because that's a more realistic color you'll see on an actual automobile. Not to mention with all the Arcees and Elita-1s coming out recently all being pink... I think I have enough pink in my life.

To be fair the Wuling Mini EV does come in pink.

Also we've seen some pics of the same figure in other colors (pastel blue, pastel green), but not sure if those are custom painted or will be released later

Yeah that's what I was referring to when I mentioned pastels. Didn't know the actual car came in the same color though, so I guess that's a little better. Still have too much pink. :I
