I've trawled through the thread , where is that mode to get the feet to stay on and to allow stegosaur one to actually close around the foot peg ?

 

Don't you have to file down the pegs to get the steg leg to close? I have to file mine down to almost nothing to make it look right.

 

Hey Ben. Have a look over the different connector pegs. There should be one that's slightly shorter which is specifically designed for the stegosaur. I know how it's a bit hit or miss on some sets but most of the newer sets should include it.
As for keeping the feet on, I'm thinking superglue is your best bet to thicken up that peg. A few drops on the peg, pop it in the connector and keep spinning it. This way it won't set so the connector piece is stuck on but will make it a tighter fit.

I also just got mine, though I only got the AOE colored version, and while fiddling with it I found out that they already provided fixed connectors for the foot pegs.

I also found a way to combine the tail shields to create a Super Shield...

I also tried fiddling with the weapons, and here's the configuration that I settled with...



Like many here, I also removed the rivets off of not swoop's wings so I can use the missiles for his gun...

Also I never really agreed with the suggested configuration to put the thighs far apart so I loosened A screw on not Grimlocks butt so I can easily adjust the crotch blocks. This gives him more height and a more proportionate look...

Damn, this guy looks great in those colours.

I got the regular version thinking it would be easier to paint into G1 colours, but that Crayola/AoE version is very striking as it is. No painting necessary.

The one on the center, which seems to be the one holding the "crotch blocks" tightly together. It's really easy to spot, just a few turns and you can already easily move the "crotch blocks" from one position to another..  

Yeah, this version is quite striking, kinda gives off a megazord vibe. That's why I'm holding off painting it and instead am searching for a regular colored one to paint into G1 colors
