That's not really the point -- if the holes in the browser or OS that let the malware in are still there, antivirus isn't necessarily going to protect you. Keeping up-to-date with OS patches and using a more secure browser go hand-in-hand with using antivirus software and a firewall.

I hate to bump this, but I'm not willing to risk getting infected on a what if. Plus it will help all those who'd like to know.

Is TFans safe to surf to again? Thanks!

HA! That is why I use a Mac w/ Firefox. You know, everyone always bitches about the so called "inferiority" of Macintosh products, but look at all of the iPods you see out there, all of the iMacs in schools (which on a funny side note, 10 years ago Bill Gates donated $1billion to the Washington State public school sysetm, and they bought iMacs), and now Pentium jumping on the Macintosh bandwagon. I have been using macs for over 20 years, and never had any of the problems that all of your "superior" PC's frequently experience. Just another reason to acknowledge my greatness....

...was it absolutely necessary to derail the thread into an E-Penis bitchfest about Mac VS. PC? Seriously...

Also, it's just been proven that OS X was hacked in 30 minutes and that it's security holes are about as common as XPs. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Also, don't fall off your high horse, it's a long fall and you might break something...like your ego.

    Don't worry, you will.

Everyone does, at some point, regardless of how prepared you think you are. There is no such thing as perfect security.

I'm stopping the PC vs Mac bitchfest right now.

If one person make a post about how product a is better than b they will be slapped down with a warning.

I'm perfectly comfortable with my E-Penis, thank you very much.

I apologize for pissing anyone off, I thought that everyone here was "man" enough to take some friendly jabs, but apparently I was wrong. It seems to me that most folks here are pretty PC biased, and if you read my post, you will see that I was not saying that Macs were better than PC's (unless you are doing any media functions, and then sorry, but Macs own PC's on this, which is why most college level graphics labs and ad agencies use Macs), I was just saying that I have never had any problems.

Apparently some people can't read posts where moderators of this board tell them to drop a certain subject.

So congratulation M-Prime, you now have an official warning.
    Check your PM's

    And this thread is done.
