To be fair, we have no idea what season 4 would have been like. We have a general synopsis and that's it.

The thing is, Prime and Animated are for two different target audiences. Animated was for younger viewers, hence the art style, and Prime is geared towards older kids and has more adult themes. I don't think you can really compare the two. It's like a sprinter and a marathon runner. They're both runners, but one is built for long distance and the other for quick speed over a short distance.

Animated season 4. As much as I enjoy Prime, it's not the same as I did Animated. I don't find myself emotionally invested in the characters like I did with them...even if I didn't care for the toys.

Animated. Prime continues to disappoint me continually with how it brings up potentially amazing plot elements only to completely get rid of them a few episodes later, and also how they refuse to kill off any of the Autobots (granted, Bulky's out of commission as of the latest episode, but it was still used as an excuse to both not kill him and get rid of yet another Decepticon character). With Animated, that show really began to pick up speed during Season 2 and even with the shortened Season 3 managed to have a good ending. Had S4 been greenlighted, everything we know about how S3 ended would not have come to pass and if the almanac is to be believed; would have contained even more awesome stuff like the aformentioned Marauder Megatron, goddamn TRYPTICON, and Sentinel most likely becoming the Autobot version of Starscream's leadership abilities if Ultra Magnus didn't make it (which would have led to the most hilariously tense moments of the show).

Prime; Animated was way immature and stupid, like a Teen Titans for Transformers, only without the coolness of the Teen Titans

Both. TFP and TFA are both great Transformers series in my opinion. Sure the beginning of season 2 wsd a let down but Season 2 may get better.

    Both shows were great.

I was all for Animated getting a season 4. Because more toys would have been created.

Animated knew it was a kids show and had good humour for it. It wasn't immature at all, in any way, rather then being a cartoon, unlike, say, ROTF which is hugely immature with its humour.

Prime. Animated was good, the robots were cool and it was my first TF's show to watch completely and a forth season woulda been cool at the time but there's just something about Prime that makes me like it better.

I like Prime, but I feel Animated needs to tell its final chapter.
