For the moment this is only my guess, but there are details that I found out that put in comparison valorize my idea that the TF5 Megatron transforms into a winged dragon with three heads that you see at the beginning of the trailer spot! Most likely the character of the reference cartoon is the RID Megatron, that among its six transformations is that of a winged dragon with two heads, with the difference that in the character of the film, the wings form parts of the armor of the robot (photo 1). Oter armor similarities highlighted in the picture 2. I doubt the film's producers propose another "Megatron trucks"... since we are in now in TF5 "chivalric mythology"... and with a Megatron reference dragon existing in the cartoon series RID, this remains the best choice for the context of the film. If Hasbro/Takara will do a good job, this Megatron will be one of the most interesting models of the new line TF5 toys... and since the last leader class Megatron was the ROTF, if there is anyone here in this forum in direct contact with Hasbro, to propose the creation of Megatron dragon leader class!
The dragon isn't Megatron. Just doesnt fit the timeline. During that time, Megs was frozen in Antarctica.
I don't think the 3-headed dragon is Megatron. He was frozen in the Arctic ice until Sams grandfather discovered him, then imprisoned under Hoover Dam until Movie 2007. I don't think he thawed himself from the Arctic ice, flew around as a dragon in medieval times then crashed and froze again. Are we sure this really is Megatron? Could be a ploy of deception by TLKs creative team. His shield and axe resemble the weapons from AOE seen on the Knightship. What if this is the TLK??????
What if megatron steals the power of becoming a dragon, I've speculated before that his current form is partly sentinel prime....so what if when he gets upgraded to knight status it's actually due to sentinel and he also as a result resurrected the old dragon form from some archives or something....
you forgot the teeth on his shoulders ... cogman transforms into a head and steals bodies right !? maybe megatron does that with the dragon !? transforms into one of his heads !?
I think he's just got stylized armor on. You know how some knights had armor plates that had wings engraved in them or a lions head or say a dragon head or teeth?
the most important word being rumored ... also ... triple changer !? I understand your point yeah ... but I find it weird and very coincidental they would put that in the design
What makes it all so hard to predict is the way Optimus suddenly looked like a knight by changing vehicle mode....the fact there was no lead up to the knight thing was them massively dropping the ball during production...
Maybe he is "linked" to the dragon in some way. Example. Megs was once a pupal of The Fallen, one of the first true Primes right? So what if that happens again? As I'm theorized already, what if the dragon is a a Prime? I'm mentioned that with him being a Dragon and Black, he very well could be a Prime like Onyx Prime, the father so to speak of all Beastformers. So what if that happens to be the case and this Dragon Prime manages to grant Megs with power to fight this now controlled Optimus who is controlled by the evil that The Dragon Prime was created to fight? And so he's given Megs power to be "the hero" this time? Will that happen? Almost certainly not and it's just a theory but Megs could once again be guided by a Prime.
that does sound reasonable !!! I had also tought of onyx before ... alpha trion too: I usually dont advertise my own threads but I think this time it´s fitting: speculation about several characters and plot points also, I am not in any way saying I was right before ... but my headmaster megatron theory could fit with yours ...
I think they are certainly nodding in the direction of the beast formers but I just think there is more to megs than what happened to Optimus....simple scan and that's it.....I'm certainly intrigued as to his origins story that they teased us about....Optimus gets the love but it's always been megatron with the story.
At first I thought this was plausible, but judging from the size of the dragon, it's much bigger than Megatron.
