Entertainment Weekly has this page long article about the Summer movie deaths and here's one that went to TF3 "Best death that proves the PG-13 rating has failed" "Optimus Prime ripping off Megatron's head with his bare hands at the end of Transformers: Dark of the Moon. The sight of the decepticon's robo-spine bleeding 3-D robo spinal fluid will now disturb children for life. Thanks MPAA" Ok so here's my comment, Optimus didn't rip off Megatron's head with his bare hands he did it with his axe correct? Second, what did you expect going to see Transformers? This ain't the kiddie show!!
Well, admittedly Transformers is pretty violent and gory for a PG-13 movie. It only passed censors because it's robot guts spilled, not human guts.
Yes you are Correct Optimus Hit him with his axe Really I saw DOTM with My younger cousins Ages 7-11 at Midnight and they Love it They didn't think it was gory at all
Seriously? Do people think all little kids are pussies these days? Fuck, I've been watching gory movies since I was eight years old and while I did flinch alot when watching them I wasn't traumatized. Why? Because I knew it was FAKE. The Discovery Health Channel, on the other hand? Yeah, that shit nearly made me vomit. And it's frigging CG robots. If someone gets "traumatized" by watching robots ripping the shit out of eachother, then they'll probably end up in a mental hospital from watching a car being crushed to bits in a scrapyard.
I like EW, but they make ALOT of mistakes. Case in point: at that point in the movie, Optimus didn't have hands anymore. Just had the one...
Like the others have said, Optimus uses an axe (sans one arm), but really? Robot's killing each other has been in cinema forever, only now they bring this up? And it's not even a topic worth bringing up either. LOL Besides, Megatron is an evil bastard, he deserved that epic death.
Oh please. When kids see that they don't think "ewwwww megatron's spinal fluid yuck." They are thinking " holy fucking shit optimus just killed megatron omg thats so fucking cool omg omg." My 7 year old cousin plays dead space and gears of war for christ sakes. I doubt they will be traumatized. Man, people will do anything to bash transformers films.
Not this stuff again. I used to watch R rated movies when I was 4 years old and I didn't turn into a serial killer. If anyone had seen the first two, they should know what to expect in the third one by now.
No offense to you guys, but saying that no kid will be scared of the movie because you weren't scared of this stuff as a child isn't really the right thing to assume. My 7 year old cousin got pretty freaked out by some of the death scenes, and that was before Optimus even killed Shockwave. He said it scared him. I'm glad he fell asleep (Not due to boredom, but it was the midnight showing) before we even got to Megatron's death. I do not think it's traumatizing, but it's definitely not a film good for most children, like the first one.
Why do people just have to f'n hate....Damn.....its just "GFR" giant f'n Robots as Leo Spitz would say....lol....but serious....people love to throw shots at Transformers movies....I smell jealousy....I guess 1.1 Bill and counting w the Home Release coming out in 15 days. Then coming out again w the special features and box sets at the end of what NOV.....I just laugh at the haters....I know its because they are trying to make the U.S. a bunch of wussies....c'mon....if your crazy its not cause you seen a CGI Optimus use his Energon Axe to kill Megatron and put it through his head and we all know the rest w the traitor Sentinel Prime....the NFL they are doing this and the fcc. lots of aspects in life....The Twins stuff too....they are robots....how can a robot be racist? LMAO....I guess people hate Bay...and hey ....I got a friend who work in Hollywood and he said rumor is he is a dick to work for....but maybe thats him....I don't really care much for him ....but I thank him for taking the TF movies.....and whomever gets the next Trilogy....I will be there...
I do think its not for some kids....but you as a parent or a guardian of a child at a TF film should school them on the Tformers and let them know its not real.....its a movie... and my nephew is 6 and he was okay w the movie.....He knows the story and I got him G1 DVD's.....since he was like 2....to each is own tho....but its okay to me for 13 yr olds....it does say sci-fi violence and stuff ....
