did anyone buy the dvd/blu ray disc and digital copy? it seems there are no special features?

it was on sale from Best Buy for $19.99 -- not much money considering i get all 3 formats.. but then I heard that come Christmas time they will come out with a 3D version? how true?

I am thinking of returning what I bought and save that $20 for the one with 3D.

 

Bought it. It comes with a $10 off coupon for the 3d one. I don't mind doubledipping.

 

where did you buy yours that it had the $10 coupon? I bought mine from Best Buy and it did not have the coupon..

 

The one that comes out a little later will come with special features also.

 

Oh, that's weird. It was inside the case on the reverse of the card that allowed you to download the digital version.

I got it at Target, I think for $20 or so.

I skipped this release & will just get it in Dec with the extras.

 

I passed because it just wasn't one of those films I really want to own. Only a handful of films that I'm willing to rewatch so I've got a lot of DVDs around the house gathering dust.

My recommendation though based on other DVDs I have is to wait for the release with the extra features. Some Blu Ray and DVD releases have extras that really enhance the experience as you get to see what went into making a film you enjoyed or they give you extra information about the world the film is set in.

 

Same.   That way I can have back ups if a friend wants to borrow the movie.

Yep I bought it at Walmart for $17.96. $10 coupon for the 3D Bluray combo with special features was a nice perk which I'll use when it comes out.

 

I bought it. I figure i'll get $10 off the 3D version with extras later. Plus I can sell this to a friend who doesn't care about the extras for $10 when I do, so I'm not really out anything. And you get the $5 off any DOTM toys coupon too. Not too shabby for not having the patience to wait.

 

Anyone NOT going to buy the 3D/Special feature package when it comes out that is willing to give up their coupon?

 

i bought the 2 disc dvd and blu ray with digital copy. and i also bought the movie off of psn.  

 

Downloaded the BR rip a couple weeks ago. That'll do the trick until the 2-3 disc deluxe physical releases start getting rolled out. The rumor going around right now is that Future Shop is possibly going to either re-release TF1 & ROTF in Steelbooks or at least just produce the cases for them so as to coincide with a DOTM Steelbook - something they've done in the past when new installments of trilogies are released and/or completed. Good chances we'll also see a Steelbook containing the complete trilogy at some point too.

 

Yea, I got the triple copy edition (BD, DVD, and DC). However, I couldn't get the downloader for the digital copy to work; a message saying that I need to upgrade to the latest version of Windows Media Player is displayed, but I already have the latest version (version 12). But, it wasn't a big deal; I simply converted the file from the BluRay disc to an MP4 file and then synced it to my Zune HD. I did this for the first film and ROTF as well; the quality is very good.

 

Are they going to come out with a special features that is not 3D?????? I'm just after better sound. The sound on the current release is atrocious.

 

I wanted the digital copy, but didn't want to spend the extra money for the blu-ray I don't need.

 

Can any of those who bought the DVD take a picture of whats inside the box, cause the version here in Mexico comes in a cheap black box, when the American version is transparent, wanted to know if there are pictures there  , please! thank you!

Also the DVD is very lame it just haves text en black, not like the other two movies that were painted in gray with white text
