Ive seen about an even amount claim that there favorite Transformers movie is with the first or the third so I want to see which one comes out on top here. Dark of the Moon is a better transformers movie to me but on the whole Transformers 1 is better. But my vote will go to a like them both!

It has to be DoTM for me. Better Transformer movie, better action movie. The final fight scene in TF is so disappointing to me.

Transfomers was an iconic film, it set a new standard in cinema. You wonder why so many movies are compared to TF1, cause you had never seen anything like it. DOTM was only remember for it's Badass 3D. I love DOTM, but TF1 is much more superior.

TF 01 for me, it showed how menacing the Decepticons were. Megatron killing Jazz, Starscream taking out both Ironhide and Ratchet, Bonecrusher's confrontation with Prime.
But DOTM showed a lot of ballsy moves like killing of Ironhide, shows that a Transformer would do anything to save his planet, and would go as far as joining the Decepticons to try and revive Cybertron, was seconds away from killing off Optimus while he was defenceless.

TF1 was far more superior in plot and characters, but dotm had the best action.

You are talking about the movie everyone groans about Bumblebee pissing on Simmons? It pushed CGI ahead but it's far from iconic nor did it set a standard for anything. What movies are compared to TF1 in a good way?

I love all 3 films for different reasons! And I know I'll love TF4! (unless lockdown turns into a fairy and kills all the Dinobots in 1 shot... Then I'd be pissed!)

As good as TF1 was, DOTM still edges it in my book. Other than Bumblebee and Blackout and Barricade, the Transformers don't show up until an hour into TF1. DOTM had a solid story, pretty good character development (minus Dino, Que, and Shockwave), and had the best action.

I'll gladly go with TF1 because at least Sam was at least more level headed than he was in DOTM. He was just an overall douchebag in that movie.

Transformers 2007 was the starting point for me, after that I watched every episode of G1 and started a figure collection. However the movie contained a rather large amount of human screening and IMO, the actual Transformers didn't get a lot of screen time until the middle to end. I found the final battle to be rather weak and could have been executed a lot better with a different outcome. If they had cut out Simmons, secretary of defense, Louis off Kangaroo Jack and that blonde chick trying to call for the air force out then I feel It could have been my jaw dropping and eye catching. I did not like Jazz's death :(

DOTM was a vast Improvement from both '07 and ROTF. It ruled out almost every flaw ROTF gave us. Though, there was still too much screen time for the humans and NEST, much like '07 (without NEST). It gave us the Wreckers a brilliant UK bunch :D  Dino or, Mirage as I prefer to call him. Problems with the characters in this movie are, Skids and Mudflap disappear? Wheeljack was dam hideous with a great Mercedes alt mode. Ironhides death, seriously WTF, why Sentinel? I feel that Sentinel could have been manipulated by Shockwave or Soundwave (both had potential wasted), to control the Pillars for Megatron and then Have Megatron shoot Sentinel off the building they were on. Optimus and Sentinel could have kicked arse together. However despite the minor flaws I found the action to be much, much better that '07 the story was very G1 reminiscent!!! :D

Overall, I like both films because I am a movie fan, and a fan that can kick the flaws in the arse and enjoy the films regardless.

The Decepticons were wasted in TF01. They were all named and had cool designs but didn't get any characterization. Brawl and Blackout didn't even get to speak. In DoTM the named Decepticons all got lines. Sentinel Prime got decent screen time, he was the best villain of the movies.

TF1 without a second thought. It is a true true masterpiece. DOTM is great, too, though.

DOTM. Better action, better designs (though ROTF had best overall), good villain, and other neat stuff.

    The better movie, overall.

TF1 has too many things I have an issue with. Jazz's death (Que's wasn't great, but it was better), the BB pissing scene, and the Sam's Happy Time scene.

TF1 was way better plot wise IMO, but since I'm a sucker for action, I had to choose DOTM. You damn well the chicago battle was way more epic than mission city.

Felt the first film has a lot more problems than people actually recognise - almost all the issues that people disliked about ROTF are present in TF1 also. By the time DOTM rolled around we got rid of 2 bad writers and got a new writer who gave us a stronger storyline and fixed a majority of the issues - the same writer is back for AOE, hence my hopes for the film.

Their are a few aspects that I enjoy from either film - though I felt the human cast was more bearable in DOTM and it gave us a proper villain. The main parts of DOTM that I disliked heavily were the misuse of fan-favourite characters who were killed off in stupid ways, the stereotypical characters/transformers, deep wang and Simmons scenes.

They're actually based on stereotypical Nascar racing fans mixed with Redneck's - so not sure why you referred to them as a 'Uk' bunch...

Nascar racing and Rednecks both are US based...

    TF1.

DOTM has better plot ideas like evil humans, the space race involving the Ark's crashing on the moon, Sentinel Prime...etc...etc but TF1 is a better crafted and executed film.

I generally loved both films, honestly. But TF1 takes the cake for me. I just loved waking up on Saturday mornings and watching those TF1 stopmotions and playing the game on my Wii. I was only 7 back then. Ahh the memories... For DOTM all I remember is watching the movie with my family and playing the game on my Xbox lol

    TF1 by far.
