Granted, we haven't had many truckformers in the various contemporary Transformers lines. But counting the ones we've had, most of them don't have trailers. And the ones they have had aren't compatible with any but the truck it comes with.

My opinion is that the Transformers toy lines as a whole should introduce a unified trailer system. Trailers that can attach via 5mm ports on the backs of truck cab alt modes like Optimus Prime, Huffer, or others.

The idea of shared trailers go all the way back to the G1 Sunbow cartoon, where Huffer babysat Optimus Prime's trailer.

    Thoughts?

I'd like that, but like you said: there's not that many truckformers, so it's not like it would be that big of a play feature.
Then there's the whole thing with scale between truckformers, like Optimus Prime and Huffer...

Just like how the more recent figures have those peg holes for the flight stands, I could see some kind of non-intrusive trailer hitch peg/hole being added.

I would be for this. Obviously it would benefit optimus almost exclusively but if they would do a universal system so you can swap trailers id be pleased....especially since id really like to get the upcoming cyberverse prime with trailer and I think it would look cool with siege prime

I would love it if we got more trailers, however there comes an issue of each Optimus Prime needing to have the same dimensions and placement of his fifth wheel for this to work, and that not only would limit a design, but previous primes don’t adhere to it as well. I think we just need to find a mold that can be used or slightly atlered a lot, like the new Seige mold, and then make a trailer for it that can be used for it’s repaints and retools.

I don't know how well it would work when there are not many truck formers and in various scales. Personally, I wouldn't mind a new one to include with Siege Optimus. I'd like to see a true Classics update of G1 Prime's original battle platform with maybe optional ports for Battle Masters and a sort of universal adapter to fit on various other bots. Since we already got Prime, I'd love to see Prime's Trailer set with a Weaponizer Roller that can also pull it around for Prime in case one doesn't have an Optimus yet.

Dear self: It's mid-2019 and there still isn't a universal trailer system.

    Hasbro, what gives?

At least G1 Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus could share their trailers. Optimus could also wear the Magnus armour.

I like the idea of shared trailers especially if we got something like G1 Overload's trailer that turned into a jet piloted by the owner.

Or more trailer armour like POTP Rodimus, Nemesis, Optimus and Siege Ultra Magnus.

I'd love to see a trailer for CW Motormaster that turned into armour giving him a closer look to the G1 toy albeit without the cab feet.

Be cool if there was a Nemesis Prime that could share it.

I also wouldn't mind seeing large updates of the G1 Micromaster Transports Overload, Erector and Roughstuff with Voyager size cabs and the trailer gives them larger armoured robot modes.

Even the Micromaster Combiners could get similar treatment.

For example Sledge and Hammer. The cab is a larger modern update of the G1 toy. The trailer is based on the rear end Micromaster becoming armour for the cab giving him a robot mode based on the robot mode of the original rear end character.

Like the G1 Micromaster Combiners, these trailer armours are interchangeable with the cabs.

I'd be all for this. Since Earthrise Prime comes with a trailer, I'd love to see a new mold Huffer (and later Pipes) that is compatible with that trailer and can pull it like he did in G1 Heavy Metal War.
