    thats not what I was trying to say.

    just that since theres a number of errors in this case, you can choose to either think it was Skyfire,Powerglide and the Aerilbots, or you can think of them as ships that looked a bit similar.

    As for visial proof there are a lot of unknown Decepticons, check out the shot of the cons when Galvatron attacks Autobot city & Junkion. Tons of 'specks' in the air. Too many to be known cons.

    I always assumed that the Cons taking them by surprise was the big reason. As for why the city in battle mode didn't hold off the Cons, we could guess that that whole swarm of Insecticon clones ate through many of the defenses. Perhaps they were critical in breaching and then breaking the defenses, to borrow Megatron's words.
