The following characters are in the credits at the end, but either had no speaking parts that I know of or weren't there at all: Prowl - He's obviously in the movie as we see him die horribly, but he had no speaking part. Dirge - We see him take a mighty shot or two from Prime, but no speaking. Actually, I'm not sure about this one. Is he the one who says "make room for others" as they throw the damaged Decep's out of Astrotrain? If not, who says that? Inferno - Doesn't show up at all. Gears - Same thing. He had the day off. Cyclonus - I can't tell if he's the one who says "The autobots have been terminated" after their spaceship battle. It looks like it might have been Scourge. The voice is similar to Scourge's "you want me to gut Ultra Magnus?" earlier in the film, but I'm not sure. I heard the voice actor died in '86 and Jack Angel (Astrotrain) voiced him in S3, so I don't know. That's all I can remember. Inferno and Gears always stood out to me as a kid. I wish Gears at least made an appearance. Oh well.
Prowl had a line that was in the comic (and I think in the script) about Ironhide not being able to dodge asteroids. Could've been cut. I think one of those occurences is indeed Cyclonus. As for others, I was under the impression that it was kinda like giving those VA credit for their work during the series.
Yeah, I think it was probably that if they did a voice in the movie they got credited for the other voices they did for the series too. Which is nice.
He was in a deleated scene that takes place after magus and crew took off from autobot city they show him and grapple fixing autobot city and he yells "good luck". Why he didn't help them fight who knows? Isn't this old news? I'm surprised you didn't know about this. He was next to prime at the start of the movie. Prime may have said something to him and it was cut. He must have had some line at that time. Maybe he was on the ship with prime and said something then. We may never know.
Gears did make a small cameo. He is sitting in a chair next to Ironhide while Optimus is talking to Bumblebee and Spike on the screen on moon base one. It's the scene where Laserbeak is by the window spying on them.
Also there is a robot that looks like Gears at least by paint that dropped in the the pit of acid in Unicron.

There is one that looks like Beachcomber/ is Beachcomber. (Since he is in S3) but before him there someone with a smiler pain job as Gears.
It's very much possible they recorded lines but were cut but still giving credit for their work. Are their any examples of characters who spoke but their actors went uncredited?
