Awesome! I got a few of the club/Botcon samples, myself! It's neat being able to see the unseen preproduction stuff from them, let alone owning it!

Totally swap em out! When I had the ivory RID Megatron I put the stamped 2016 Megatron head on it for a while lol
Wish I could find a CW Sunstreaker proto so I could put my Botcon Ravage hard copy head on it lol
As of right now they're both just kinda setting on the shelf.

FoC bruticus prototype - keep me in mind when you decide to list it. :thumb

    Yeah, that's onslaught, not demolisher.

    Demolisher looks like this.

That Animated Thundercracker is cool, but since he originally sold on eBay for ~$70, I think I'd only be able to justify $300 at most for him.

I don’t recall seeing him that low but I think you would have a hell of a time finding one for $300

Didn't the last one go for about 700-800?

It was very early on when Animated toyline hadn't yet been cancelled, and the assumption was why buy a prototype when the real deal will be here soon, and the price dipped. If I hadn't know about that initial price, then my maximum probably would be higher but because I did, I really can't justify it, especially because it's not a one-of-a-kind. But to each their own, and quite honestly, you could have probably asked for $3000 for it and settled at a BIN price of $2700. It's not exactly a hard item to sell at any price, especially since the people buying it at that price are going to keep it, not resell it (and it's a great set-piece for a collection). May take some time, but you'll get a nice chunk of change out of it.

For me though, it just doesn't make any sense to buy it at such a high price. But again, it's not hard to find other collectors who would. And if one of you here buys it, show off some pictures!

Edit: Whelp. I was wrong. It was $770. My bad! Still, my price hasn't changed. But good luck to those of you who want it!

    hey there!
Relatively new to the prototype scene and figured this would be the best place to ask! I am deep into the minicon rabbit hole and am now trying to get hold of any prototypes I can of them, so far ive got the unpainted Rollout and Thunderclash, red and white swoop, and the yellow, grey and purple star saber on the way. How easy would others be to get hold of and is there a definitive list anywhere of ones that have been found previously? Also would 'unreleased' ones like the space team from spacewarp or the 3 pack redecos come under prototypes? Thank you in advance!!

Just had these beauties arrive! Anyone here know anything about them? Im assuming they are from early on in the design process with Runway having tooling not featured on the final release in the form of an extra nosecone joint much like Jetstorm.

Edit: My bad, where asking what these figures were or what prototype stage?

Star Saber Minicons from Armanda. They combine together to form a sword:

I was wondering about what prototype stage, or really any background info on them at all! It was suggested to me elsewhere with the colouring it could be tests for the energon repaints, but with the energon ones being completely new tooling I dont think thats right. I think its a really interesting set, especially as a minicon collector! hahaha

    It's definitely official:

The user who owns them said as much after being asked directly.
