It is kind of, well, disheartening that nearly every prominent female villain from the more popular TF shows employs some kind of venom. I mean, the guys get all this cool shit and the girls all get a disgusting ooze that slowly eats away at you, draining your life until you're nothing more than an empty husk. Sounds like the designers went through a bad breakup.

He was making a joke. Too bad the joke failed because Blackarachnia is an awesome, multi-sided and wholey relevant character who grew, evolved, and in Beast Wars was one of the single most significant players besides Megatron himself while Airachnid is a cheap attempt at a villainess that succeeds only at being a tired dominering stereotype conceived by only the most lazy and pandering or writers.

 

Last time I checked Airachnd has only been a Decepticon, Blackarachnia has been both.  

 

Since when does Strika and Thunderblast have any venom? They ain't no beasties. I didn't say Slipstream since she's has yet to be a main character.

 

I wouldn't say they're 'ideal' female shapes. They're just 'female' shapes. Ripclaw seems to have a female shape too, just not as pronounced. Just trying to understand here... do you mean just 'pronounced' female features?

And IMO, they don't seem to have any hips, it looks like just pelvis-to-leg like most fembot figures have.

I really really hope not. I can't stand Airachnid.

Ironically, I like her toy more than the average opinion of her. A lot more than Ultra Magnus's toy. I hope his Weaponizer toy is better.

Looks awesome! Can't wait to see what the rest of Wave 2 looks like. TBH overall I'm excited by the Predacons if less so by the road warrior-esque Autobot/Decepticon mix in Wave 1. Here's hoping Wave 2 is all as sexy looking as this bot.

BTW, curious what others think about how the Dinobots (if they show up in Season 3) will be handled in toy form; Voyager, Deluxe or a mix of the two?

 

What makes me like this figure the most is that her claw weapon, while appearing to be an extension of her arm, looks like it's a detachable weapon and that she does have two normal arms and hands...if that's the case, I'm sold.

Thin proportions + chest sticking out + wider hips + looking like a supermodel = looking like a supermodel. I mean, I'm not sure how else to describe. Look at Arcee and Airachnid's proportions, they're nearly identical to almost every female Transformer ever. I mean, girls are more than one shape, I don't know if you've noticed. But I cna fix that. I got a book we can read together that might clear this up.

Which also doesn't make him look very good, since the only Blackarachnia to have been a Predacon was the first one, which was, y'know, before any others have shown up.

However he could be talking about Beast Hunters' Preds. Like he's saying he's glad the new female Pred isn't another spider.

 

I guess pronounced would be a better descriptor, but seemingly all fembots --all fictional female characters in general, really-- have incredibly similar basic builds. There aren't too too many "ugly" fems; no Two-Faces, Penguins, Man-Bats, Clayfaces, Jokers, or Scarecrows.

Just pointing this out but it feels like this mold would be good for either a deluxe beast wars/beast machines Megatron or a deluxe Predaking.
