Two days ago I attended a Transformers exhibition (going on until this Sunday, July 6th in Taipei, near the 101 building) with my good buddy rob_charb, our wives, and his super cute new baby girl. The events are set up for kids, but that didn't stop me and my crazy wife from partaking in ALL of them. There is a Kre-O building corner; a Nerf shooting range; photo op things set up, including toy boxes you can get in, and a Grimlock you can ride; as well as One-Step, Power Battlers, and Flip & Change toys to play with. Go around to each place and fill up your stamp card with Autobot symbols to draw for either a Kreon Microchanger or a pack of Oreos. There is a ton of posters leading the way to the area, with the entrance poster covering the whole wall. Statues inside include Cybertron Scourge, AOE Optimus, an Optimus head, and an AOE Grimlock that you can get on top of for picture taking. There are also display cases set up for Masterpiece toys (including the test shot of BB); Movie toys (some older stuff, but mostly AOE); Kre-O (including the limited/exclusive Silver Knights 5-pack & Elite Optimus); Knights of Unicron hair band; Generations Jetfire & Leader Grimlock/Optimus 2-pack; Kidslogic; and Construct Bots. And in addition to this there are two big dioramas set up, one for AOE toys, and one for Kre-O. The sales room has LOTS of stuff. Mostly all new stuff, with some older stuff consisting of things I've seen clogging shelves in a lot of shops. Besides the regular toys, merchandise found here includes flash drives; portable batteries; card readers; slippers; pencil cases; chopsticks/utensil sets; crayons & pastels; portable cups; mugs; stationary sets; whiteboards; plastic folders; handbags; and jigsaw puzzles! I took many pics, went through them all, but still have 100ish pics I'd like to post to show everything mentioned above + more.... but how many pics is acceptable? Perhaps somebody could get back to me about how to, or if I can, put up so many pics. I don't wanna slam with dozens of pics if it's frowned upon. Thanks. Here's a few to gets things started:
It was a pretty fun experience. It blew my daughter's mind! The shop did indeed have a bunch of great stuff.
Do you have more pictures of that MP Bumblebee test shot? I'd love to see as many pictures of that as you have.
You, sir, are a star - thank you *very* much for posting those Bumblebee pictures - he looks fantastic! What did you think of it in person?
Wow thanks a lot for sharing - I came in after seeing the MP Bumblebee pics in the Bee thread. Was there any of the other upcoming MPs on display?
Looks like 'Bee was the only one: It seems they had representatives of all moulds from MP-01 to MP-19, though. I have to say that those 'Bee pictures are some of the best and clearest we've seen - much better than any of the pictures taken at the Tokyo Toy Show! (I don't suppose there are any more of the alternative face sitting at his feet?) Anyway, thanks again for all the pictures, prime roller.
Jeez, they've gone from one extreme to the other with all that chrome on the Platinum Leader Optimus's face lol
It looks like it was alot of fun. I hope Hasbro will have a play area for kids to mess with Kreo at Comic Con
The peculiar looking Leader OPs and Grimlock are cross-branding with Phantaci, a popular apparel store in Taiwan. These figures appear to be simply repaints that they could slap a name onto rather than official, especially considering the pink and grey camo'ed trailer being the trailer from the DOTM Ultimate OP without the giant hunks of robo kibble or cannon. The only one that is anything other than a repaint is the gold one that has a staff and some sort of flame texture underneath all of that gold.
YAY! Product placement in the toy diorama! YAY! Leader Optimus breaking out of his shell former! ...wait, is it Leader Optimus?
