I was surprised. I enjoyed this issue far more than I thought I would.

I was a bit blase about another "what if?" scenario. I liked the two Dreamwave crossovers well enough, but there just wasn't enough meat there to really keep me interested. And alternate universe stories seem to thrive on the 'we don't have to use them again so lets kill them all off' ending.

But Hearts of Steel started out very well with the 'beast wars' on ancient Earth between the G1 characters. They shut themselves down and then woke up in the 19th century. We get cool historical cameos and a built in 'man vs. technology' theme with John Henry.

Again with Bumblebee!! I'd like to see some other characters get the spotlight. I like his little choo-choo mode though.
