... Messed up so I actually had to disassemble the thing's leg to see if I can put things back together...

Now kinda clueless on what to do next.

So it all started with this particular center peg (which connect the legs with the torso for transformation) just casually went out of alignment which eventually popped off because typical "me" luck.

That peg is connected with a screw which is well hidden under the small treads.

    Here's the current state.
Now I get that the idea is to loosen the 2 screws on the middle small treads with all of the goodies including screws, ratchets, and springs without removing them, then sandwich the knee, the small tread, and the big ole' foot tread together then proceed to tighten the screw.

Thing is it's kinda physically impossible to hold everything together with my anemic hand while working the other hand to tighten the middle screws...

Any idea what led to the misalignment?

I just rotated the panel then bam.

Maybe the screw wasn't initially tighten enough.

So to reach the internal screw you had to dismantle several bits that you now have to put together again? Why was the screw not accessible without dismantling the leg?

    Because it's situated waaay inside.

If you can see the pivot for the panel on the right, then yeah, the screw for the peg is above that one.

Would a hand clamp help you hold everything togther and allow you to screw thongs back in?

why are you disarming him? Does this figure have an error or is it just your case?

You know what, turns out that ripping the whole leg out and then working on them separately from the main body kinda make things easier when you have more leverage.

Also to prevent the ratchets & springs to fly off a couple of meters away from my workdesk I just decided to work on the floor.

Leaving the sonuvabith in half-untabbed T-pose for now since those shoulder joints are a PITA to pull out.
    Peg.JPG
This peg became unaligned from the hole when I tried to rotate that panel for transformation.

Which is connected by this screw. Makes me end up dismembering him to screw that peg back on.
You sir I don't like the idea of Meggy streaking around wearing a thong. Or Optimus in a bra... oh wait, AoE.

Speak for yourself. (Though my grandmother owned a dress shop and would’ve advised Optimus to go up by a cup size.)

Question for someone who has him: with those extra bits on the sides of the legs, can he kneel?

... Is non movable treads kind of an SS Megatron thing?

Old ROTF Leader Class and Black Mamba has wheels in place, while this one is just stiffy imitation treads.

Still, it's kinda annoying that the Leader Class is the most functional tank of them all though, it can roll.

How do you mean? SS Megatron has wheels and BMB Megatron is an upscaled version of that.

Does DF's not have wheels? As far as I know, no Megatron figure has ever had any moveable treads.

No wheels either which is kind of noticeable after I've handled 2 other Megatrons.

As for final impressions about the figure... You can stab people to death with his prickly head. Also true Tank mode can only be achieved if you swap out the cannon arm for the spindly arm I suppose.

Well yes, it was a scene in Revenge of the Fallen. But that's the only movie where Megs looked had this body, so we're kinda stuck with it.
