Proportions are all wrong. Backpack is terrible.

Yeah, it's possible this might have ultimately been a great toy, but just looking at this I'm not immediately wowed. But that's me.

Be aware this is clearly a super early concept render. They don’t even have the right Solstice model or head design, and that’s purely because this is a super early stage in development. If this ever got further into the design process, I’m sure it would’ve been significantly better than what it is in these images. The upper body proportions look significantly better than the MPM and doesn’t use faux taillights.

You're not wrong at all. This is just one of those cases where I get kind of amazed how excited people are getting at the early stages of a project when a pretty solid one is already at market (vs either no toy, or one widely regarded as being a huge mess).

Yeah that does make sense. For me, I think a lot of the hype came from the fact that it was 2017 when these images came out and there was no evidence Jazz was getting an official MPM for a while, so anything was better than nothing.

And looking at it now, it definitely has some major problems, but I would’ve imagined they would be fixed, and me having Jazz as his favorite Bayverse design makes me hungry for one that has the potential to be better than the MPM, which is good but not quite what I think Wei Jiang could’ve done with it.

always room for improvement. I’d forgottten this thread predated the mpm announcement.

I will say, this is one of the few mpm’s where I’m not sure there was a ko with significant paint improvements, and it certainly had one of the better paint jobs.

Sure, but you'd think they'd have the torso/legs figured out.

And I don't care about faux taillights or faux anything if it makes the figure look better in both modes. Do I prefer real parts from vehicle to bot mode? Absolutely. But it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make.

Either way, this appears to be vaporware :(
