ok, so i think armada is one of the best to show character development in its run. mainly in the decepticons. some may disagree but this was the only TF series i know that had multiple epeisodes that focused completely on the decepticons and their internal issues. some of the episodes had little to know autobots appearences in them. issues like loyalty, betrayal, plans, moral, and genral shenanigans. TF prime has only done this with the recent episode "patch". thoughts.

100% agree. That one if the biggest things I loved was getting to see the other side.

Idk. I personally think beast wars done a better job. Though armada starscream was cool.

I'd say Beast Wars had the most and best character development. But of all the other Transformers shows, I think Animated would be next on that list. Then definitely Armada. Starscream had his whole story arc. Hot Shot had his. Even Megatron had some development.

I can hardly even think of any other shows that had some meaning character development. Probably Cybertron next. Maybe RiD after that.

The best? I'd disagree, but I did enjoy the Armada Decepticons.

Ennnnnh, I'd disagree for the most part, but then again, Hot Shot, Starscream, and that lousy moose got some decent development.

Armada made Starscream an interesting character, and not the sniveling scheming coward that other shows have presented us with. Armada also made hotshot interesting, except for that horribly unfunny "jamm" thing. The jam thing never made it into the show, though.

I don't see how anyone would think BW had great character development. By the very definintion said character must be developed, changed. To grow beyond what they were when they were first introduced. BW had about as much character development as G1 did. Which is to say, almost none.

Armada and TFA really are the only animated series to develope at least some of it's characters.

Dinobot, Cheetor and Blackarachnia all disagree with you.

I agree that Armada had some very good character development, but then again, so did Cybertron, Animated, and most of all, Beast Wars. Prime has had some good character development across the show too, mainly in the second season, just not on the scale of the other four.

This even characters like rattrap and waspinator.
Rattrap never cared about his team and grew to become allies with dinobot and cared about the other crew mates.
Waspinator kinda turned good at the end. He chose to stay on earth and not to hurt humans but beast machines changed that.

Even Primal and Rhinox had some development, actually. Oh, and Silverbolt.

Demolisher and Inferno had real interesting character developments in Energon.....but then they killed them off and brought them back from the dead only to never do anything cool again.

    *le sigh*

It has a *small number* of character who get some really great development. That's not the same as it the show as a whole having the best character development. An AWFUL lot of characters are ignored entirely to get those few up to those heights.

    ???
Cheetor- is the same character from start to finish in Beast Wars.

Dinobot- starts a warrior of honor. In ep 1 he leaves the Predicons and joins the Maximals soon after. He's that same character all through the series. Even his death is bound in that honor, protecting the weak. Which amounts to nearly zero character development.

Blackarachinia- From the start, she is a character who is out for herself. She is on her own side. Her aligence is with whoever she sees fit at the time. Haveing some sudo romantic relationship with Silverbolt is not character development. It in no way changes who she is... a character that can turn on you at any momment if it suits her.

I'm disapointed that you didn't use Rattrap as an example- because he's the only one who actually has some change in his character. At the beginning he is the one who is most vocal about Dinobot, but he ends up likeing him and excepting him as part of the group. That is a development- a small one, but it's more than any other character in the series.

Now, if you link BW to Beast Machines... you could see some development in the characters. But, that's more like the characters just changed abrubtly going into the next series. If these changes had taken place within Beast Wars, slowly going through out the whole series.... then I would say yeah, there was lots of character development. As it stands, there is very little.
