I want a level where you have to play as little Sari and must run under the legs of these giant robots as they're fighting. Maybe she needs to reach a fallen Autobot to revive them. Oooh! Make it a bonus level every time the Autobot you're playing as is drained of life! And switch it up now and then. Maybe Sari catches a ride with Bumblebee half-way, but has to do the rest of the legwork herself. That could be cool.
You know what would be cool, it Transformed Animated vs Street Fighter I'd buy that in a second and it would sell like crazy.
I say no to multiplayer....really. I just don't think it needs it. One of the main reasons a game ends up with a rather average single player experience is because developers feel that they need to try and shoehorn in a multiplayer mode, which a good deal of the time ends up feeling half assed anyways (like the multiplayer on Metroid Prime 2). I like how more devs are starting to stray away from multiplayer (like with Bioshock) in a game that doesn't really need it. Err...sorry for the rant on that..anyways. As far as the art direction goes, I say cel shaded would probably work best for it..it fits the art style rather well. Gameplay....go for an action/adventure game, maybe some free roaming to it. That'd probably play out decently enough. After playing the movie game, well...they should kinda not do that again....no crappy beat 'em up combat (not that the style of combat is crappy, just...the movie game's was), maybe more..I dunno, Zelda-ish.
No, your rant is appreciated. I to love Mass Effect and Bioshock for that reason. God, I remember them penalizing BLACK because it was a shooter that had no multiplayer, despite the game being a blast! But they docked points because there was no Multi. Have we gotten to a point where a good single player game is no longer appreciated if it doesn't have some kind of multiplayer mode? Now I do hope that a new TF game would have Multi because if any source material would lend itself it would be transformers. But not at the expense of a great single mode
I really enjoyed Bioshock a lot. That game had a GREAT story. I would be for either a Street Fighter type game or (prefer) a more free roaming style game with upgrades for your character. Also you can play as Autobots or Decepticons with alternate endings. That would be pretty cool.
Well I don't mind if Transformers is milked a bit. As long as it's not sour, like the movie. But I'd love to see an Animated game.
