It's bigger than Classics Mirage's. It's a little on the narrow side, but not Nicole Richie narrow. It doesn't take away from the figure at all.

Killer review. Lockdown looks awesome. I can't wait to get my hands on the whole TF:A line.

    Here they are:

    Start off in vehicle mode.

Then rotate the legs forward and detach the engine/weapon.

Stand him upright, rotating the rear bumper pieces up as feet. Pull the legs down like so, so you can see a gap.

Bend the legs back at the knee, then rotate the headlight pieces down and they will snap into place.

Rotate the torso 180 degrees. Separate the arms and swivel them forward, and rotate the hands out. Open Lockdown's chest, and pull his head up.

Take the weapon unit, flip the hook out, fold his hand back and attach the weapon to either arm, though the gimmick is only triggered on his right arm.

Is there any way to store the weapon on his back?

    Technically yes...

But it looks like some kind of goofy tail, so it really isn't that convenient.

Wow, he is a straightforward transformation, yet he works so well too. I guess you don't need an overcomplicated design to make a good toy.

Hmm...interesting, yet simple transformation. I'm definetly going to get this guy the first chance I get when he comes out. Personally, I think that a good repaint of this guy would be Scourge (G1). I don't know why, but, I can see it turning out well for some reason. Also, Prowl in his G1 colors would look good to me too. It would also be a pretty easy repaint for them to do too.

He also has a REAL hand under the hook?!

I hadn't caught that from the original review, that's awesome!

I can't believe how well done that transformation is engineered. I honestly couldn't see any connection between the car and robot modes before this--and there's damn near no kibble, and he really does look just like his the promo pictures we've seen. I know some of that is a result of toy designers working closely with animators, but still, they really made it happen.

Still not really digging the aesthetic of Animated, but looking forward to the cartoon and hoping it proves me wrong.

I personally wouldn't try it, but you might be able to. It isn't really worth it, in my opinion, since you'll probably have the hook weapon on one arm with the hand folded in, and it's not really that bad as far as it does extend.

Gah, as much as I fight the urge to diss on TF: Animated, these toys look really impressive. Like someone put some thought into them..

    :cry

I'll probably pick up some of them.. or as usual, say I'll pick up "some" and become addicted and collect more.

It's so refreshing to see everyone going from OMG THIS SUXXX WORST THAN BEEST MACHENS to HOLY CRAP SO AWESOME MUST HAVE.

There are still some holdouts, but hey - you can't please all of the people any of the time. I think he looks sweet, and can't wait to harangue the first person who posts a kitbashed version with a G1 guy's head on it. STICK WITH THE AESTHETIC HERE, PEOPLE.

-hx, Big Daddy and the Batmobile had a baby and now it's coming to your house to beat up all your other toys. What's not to love?
