Alrighty, first off let me say that I've been working on this for about a week. I was all excited about posting, then I saw the official designs for Brawn. So, please keep in mind I was working on this prior to that. Anyways, here's the history. A while back, we saw the repaint for Roadbuster Ultra Magnus and I immediately thought of G1 Brawn and began thinking what would an Animated Brawn look like? The TF08.net pics of Swindle had been posted a few days before that and I thought that would work as a base. So, I downloaded the TF08.net pics and Photoshopped out the watermark (sorry) but I left the original photo credit. The challenge was to pick color scheme that harken back to his G1 style. Yellow chest, silver arms and head. In order to accomplish this I went with a grey hood and yellow windshield frame and top. I was debating about what to do for the head. I had kicked around using Snarl's head, Ratchet's head, or building something using a combo of Lockdown, Sentinel Prime, and Bulkhead. Then I saw the official Brawn design, and thought Snarl would work best. Anyway, here's the pics, tell me what you think. Keep in mind this is the first Digibash I've ever done, and when the Swindle figure comes out I'd like to do this for real.
Okay just a quick update. First off, thanks for all the support. I'm glad you guys liked it. I'm finally starting on the actual bash now. I've had my Slag head for awhile, but sadly my Swindles were delayed. Ironically, I think I was 'swindled' on eBay. I ordered them in November and hadn't got them by Christmas with no communication from the seller! I had to file a complaint with PayPal to get the guy to send them (which he finally did LAST WEEK!). Anyway, it appears the seller is no longer registered on eBay, and according to feedback, he did the same thing to other people. And the best part - it was sent to where I work! Nothing like receiving personal packages at work to start off the New Year! But that is water under the bridge and I'm off and running! I've never done anything like this before, so I'll be utilizing every kitbash tutorial I can get my hands on.
I thought about that. I even debated about doing Hound instead of Brawn, but Hound will always be an open military type jeep to me. Plus, I've always had a soft spot in my heart for ol' Brawn ever since G1. A friend of mine gave me his when I was kid and the arm broke off at the shoulder and never quite sit right since. Ironically, this would work well years later when Brawn was shot with that classic fatal hit to his shoulder in the movie. Who knew? Apparently Brawn keeps his Spark in his shoulder!
