I wonder how everyone is going to vote. Is there going to be a website set up that collects the entries from ALL of the forums?

There will be polls made at the sites and we'll count the votes up.

You should also give a 2nd consolation prize that is chosen at random for everyone that enters. Since the Main prize will probably be influenced by whoever has the most online friends to vote for him/her. They could also go to a non TF site and beg all of their friends over there to sign up and vote for them.

Hey man, You drew yours, I just Photoshoped a preexisting image. I sure hand drawn entries will be held at a higher level.
Honestly I don't expect to win, but it's fun to try.

I'd almost feel better about having Op just pick whatever image he likes best...maybe consult a few of his buddies/family, something like that :p

I'm still debating whether or not I should enter.

If I did, I'd make a 3-D sculpture of prowl poised to attack and his vehicle mode placed next to him.

But the weird thing is, I wouldn't want the prize. As a challenge to myself, just being able to successfully bring my idea into real physical existence would be enough of a reward for me.

You guys think I should give it a try? I've always wanted to see just how far I could go in sculpting something.

I was going to use different colored Sculpey clays and build the statues around metal/wire frames affixed to a wooden base. Thinking of making Prowl 5-6" and his bike mode 2-3" high. Prowl would be posed, ready to throw his ninja-star weapon. His name would be engraved into the front of the base.

Or I could use super Sculpey and try to paint him.

I'm thinking of making it in sections:

    -lower feet to knees.
    -knees to waist.
    -upper torso.
    -arms.
    -hands.
    -head.
    -weapons.
    -bike body.
    -wheels.
    -handle bars.
    -etc.

Or I could go even further and make a ton of parts like a model kit, bake them (or let them air dry depending on the clay used) and then glue them all together into place using this industrial-use super glue (hell it's more like extraordinarily-super glue) I have at home.

For the figure of Prowl, I could place thick metal or wooden pins or wires into the parts to make plugs and holes when I finally join them all together.

Hmm...considering my free time is always unpredictably varied (and I'm usually busy as hell) I may take a while on this, not making the deadline, but it is something I'd like to try.

Okay so now I need supplies:

-different kinds of clay (decide on colored baking clay or 1 color air-dry clay).
    -metal or wooden pins.
    -wooden base.
    -engraving tools.
    -sculpting tools.
-various metal wire and solder for structure.
-paint (if using 1 color clay).
    -an "Animated" Autobot symbol decal.
-possible clear translucent plastic bike windshield for both modes.
-Flat clear hobby-paint sealant for keeping details and decal in, safely protected, and to give the overall piece that "flat" look which the Animated figures will sport.
    -display case.

Now to just make some time and spend some money.

Not sure if it's been asked yet, but is the contest for anyone around the world or is it only for those in the U.S?

If you do follow-through with this, be sure and post a thread on it in the Radicon's Customs forum.

This thread seems to have dropped off to page 4. I think I'm going to post my entry this weekend. Have you guys been scoping the other boards? So far there is only one entry by the awesome Blitz-Wing.

The way things are right now, I may not make the deadline at all.

I just finished Winter Break, and now I have 3 Art courses, 1 Film course, and 1 Art History course. Now granted, the film and history courses wouldn't eat up my time, but the 3 Art courses may place me in a constantly busy cycle.

I will try to get the supplies this weekend when I go get supplies for my Art courses.

I want this piece to be in Animated Prowl's colors, not his Gen.1 colors. This is due in part to if I want to make statues of the other Animated Characters to go with him.

Also, I am having difficulty finding screen captures of Prowl from the show. I want enough reference pictures to make fully accurate representations of both his modes. I hate inaccuracy. I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my artwork.

If I don't manage to get him done on time, do not worry. This is a project I would like to try my hand at regardless, and I wish to finish it as quickly as possible.

Oh, no, I didn't forget about you guys! I was still talking about people from other boards, but it was just a horribly constructed sentence. No offense :p
