Two of us already snagged the MP Starscream using in store pickup at North Park TRU. The website is showing at least one in stock at Galleria Mall, Irving, and Cedar Hills.

I can't fathom how bad of luck I've had trying to pick up MP Starscream today. Earlier this morning I called and had my local TRU (the Willowbrook mall one) hold a Starscream for me - only for me to arrive there and find that they sold it to someone else despite taking my name and information down.

Then I managed to call and get another one held for me at the Bunker Hill store. I show up tonight only to find that AGAIN it was sold to another person.

Its bad enough that happened once but twice? That's absurd. And I'm not even doing the website "pick up at store" thing a lot of people are doing where someone can snag it off the shelf before the store can grab it. Both times I was on the phone with someone who literally was holding the figure which should have been labled with my info as to not be sold to another person. WTF man. I don't usually like whining on the internet about silly toy drama stuff (because yeah, it shouldn't really be that big of a deal) but the amount of time and money (spent on gas and tolls) wasted today trying to buy this damn toy is really upsetting.

That's tough luck dude. I picked up mine from Bunker Hill by calling and reserving it on Tuesday morning so when I got there it had been kept for me with a 'On Hold' sticker behind the electronics counter. Next time you call Bunker Hill try speaking to Octavia - she was very helpful and seemed to know what she was doing with respect to TF MP collectors!

I am on the lookout for a second MP figure in any case - in case I find an extra I'll let you know.

Oh hey, I was the guy behind the electronics desk. That still really sucks. It's not even like they had an excuse. Thursdays are never busy. There's no reason either of those should not have been on hold for you.

I will say that customarily, "hot items" like that are usually limited to one per person and also have a "no holds" policy attached to them but these are not hard rules and vary by store. But no such thing has been said for MP Starscream. At least not at my store.

The main problem I see is stores refuse to order more of these collector's items. The fact that CW Devastator has come and gone is ridiculous. I am tired of seeing overstock of less in demand items (mainly for younger audiences) and collectors items disappearing before most of us can get them (CW products seem to be selling well versus RID). Just look at all the Star Wars items stocked at stores, The 6" Black Series has maybe 1-2 figures on pegs (Chewbacca and Finn) while there are tons of the other items just shelf warming (with the exception of the 3.75" 5 POA figures - only non Ep 7 figures seem to be left). Kylo Ren is plastered all over the packaging and his figures are nowhere to be found at retail.

Between bad case assortments, low production runs, and spotty distribution, the toy hunt at retail stores is not as fun as it used to be - even though I still prefer it to buying online - although it seems items like MP Starscream sold out fast on the online pre-orders, so we are out of luck there too.

DUDE! I actually wondered if that was you, I've seen your posts mentioning that you worked at that location! If I wasn't so focused on solving the issue at hand I probably would have talked a bit more ;)

"Right place at the right time" toy hunting is starting to get old.

I WISH it was only starting to get old. I've felt that way since I started collecting in the early 2000's and I suspect it was an issue long before that.

Yeah, I've been out of the game since the late 90's. I recently got back into collecting last year.

Saw an MP SS at the Las Colinas TRU but it was in the hands of a TRU employee who was buying it for himself.
