So, went to the supermarket yesterday and found that Tesco have Legion figures at £7! £7! Commanders are £6.97. What the hell? Seriously, we get absolutely screwed on the price of TFs over in the UK and I am shocked anyone buys them at that price. They might be worth half that. It wouldnt be so bad if we actually had a variety of things to choose from, but anything larger than a Deluxe is difficult to find these days, and we dont have any Legions beyond wave three.

Go back to your corner and count yourself lucky that a 100% American company which uses foreign design and assembly staff is even aware your country exists.

    I see...

But I'll contribute to the named topic at hand anyway while this is still open and/or not merged off.

Tescos have had Legions hovering at around £7 for several months now (in my area anyway). I really can't see how they're shifting Legions at that price. I mean especially when right next to them on the shelf are Commanders at the same price. That said, Commanders are supposed to be £9/£10 so that skews things a bit. At first Legions were seemingly hiked to £7 so they could do a 'two for £10' offer or whatever it was, but now they're just £7 as standard. Asda are at the same price.

Thankfully Argos and Sainsburys are still the normal price, and often they have sales which drop the price of Legions to around three and a half quid. Remember when Legends used to be £2.99 as standard? (were they ever £1.99 right back at the beginning of the Legends size class?) Back then I used to think that was more than they were worth, especially when compared to a £9.99 Deluxe. If only I'd known what the future held...

    ...

How much is £7 in dollars..?

Mine had 'em for £2 (well, just under) just before they stopped stocking 'em to make way for some bigger christmas sellers. I was tempted, but by the time I noticed they were out of anything good.

Quick - go buy some. lol

Some reason the legions get priced at that price in supermarkets, Asda was doing it too not long ago...

Two quid?? Which ones? Surely not recent releases?

I think my best Tescos Legends find was last year when they were clearing out their stock and I picked up some RTS Optimus Primes for 40p each.

Erk. I thought that the idea of the smaller classes was to have cheap, fun figures that people could pick up on a whim. I can't imagine anyone buys them at that price

Here in Germany, the Legion class figures are 6 Euros in TRU but the Commanders are 15 Euros! What the hell?

Wow, that works out at £12 for a Commander. Honestly, I am now glad that we have our current system, with stupidly priced Legions and Commanders half the price you do. My sympathies.

Yikes! Sympathies indeed. I'd be reluctant to pay £12 for a Deluxe, let alone a Commander. I paid £10 for Cyberverse Ultra Magnus a short while back and felt pretty cheated even though it's a great little figure. Luckily it was broken in the pack so I returned it for a refund and found another one for £7 elsewhere.

Heh, thanks. The trials of being a European TF fan! This is why I pick up boat loads of figures whenever I visit my folks back in Britain.

I got my first legion class (Breakdown) the other day, and he's cute but certainly not worth more than a fiver.

That's fine, no probs. We'll just be taking Simon Furman and James Roberts and be on our way then. Cheerio!

Legion Breakdown was the first figure I encountered a mental Tesco price hike on. I wandered into Tescos a couple months or so back and spotted Breakdown and Evac, grabbed both and was wandering to the checkout when my brain went 'Waitaminute!' and I went back to the shelves to recheck the price. Can't remember exactly what it was now but it was around six quid. As much as I really wanted those figures I wasn't going to pay out that for them so I put them back with a little pain in my heart because that was the first time I'd seen them in stores and I wasn't sure if I'd see them again.
Luckily I then dropped into Argos to see my sister who works there and alongside where you queue they had Legions out on pegs for £3.49. With rising hope I checked which ones they had and there was Breakdown, Evac and Soundwave. I nabbed all three, and with my sister's staff discount I only paid around a tenner total. Much better than the almost £20 I'd have had to pay for those exact same figures just a twenty minute walk up the road in Tescos.

It always pays to shop around.

Was going to respond to the "country exists" comment but i didn't really feel the need.

But saying that this this topic might be the highlight of British Transformer topics for December. Hurra.

Commanders are £5.99 & Legions & Botshots £3.24 in Sainsburys (or thereabout) and Deluxes £8 something.

So that is a little better.

But the Tesco and Asda Prices for Legions are pretty silly. I can only suggest that it's so they can half price them down to £3.50 sometime soon.

Speaking of which after months of searching I finally got Soundwave in Sainsburys and one sale to :) .

Now if only the last Botshot wave of 2012 would actually show up then I'd actually be able to get a toysline with a matches set of seekers and wreckers in it.
