My only complaint is that the sculpt on the faces looks a little soft. Otherwise, it's a good representation and better than what Neca put out IMPO.

eh, its not too bad ... these are mimicking the vintage toys. It isn't like the vintage April toy was anything great.

If it was meant to homage the cartoon then I would say it is way off.

It looks good quality, decent proportions and the accessories are looking good too. Lets see how it looks in person.

Hey, at least it's not one of those weird April variants right? We could have gotten Ninja Newscaster or Rashing Reporter! :lol

Edit: Is it just me or are her alt hands hidden in that image?

If the goal was to mimic the weaknesses of the old toys, I guess mission accomplished. But for 50 bucks?

I love the cynical way you phrased it (not being sarcastic), and I get what you're saying.

I mean, besides this April, I love how they did the turtles and villains. I especially liked the detailed alternate turtle heads, and I was expecting a more "realistic" looking human head for April based on that. These heads, as others have put it, look like Christmas ornament expressions or porcelain doll faces. Maybe its the angle, but the head also looks a bit larger than it should be also. I'm not getting "April Vibes" from this figure tbh.

    That rocksteady looks amazing though.

Honestly hoping she looks better in person. That said, unless they make another version down the line somewhere, this is what we're working with.

Maybe not the vintage toy April, but they said almost everything is on the table for Ultimates.

I don't think that lighting did her nose any favors. Looks like she was taking after Krillin.

I'm slowly warming up to the face, not gonna lie. Still gonna wait for a review or some before deciding.

i must have missed that there were no orange stripes on the suit either. The headset head is my favorite, but none are particularly great:/

I think it's the placement of the eyes that's making it look weird. They don't look like they're aligned with the sculpt. Them being tampo'd and not painted also kind throws it off a bit.

True, and the type of shiny, plastic doesnt help. Dang, April is to TMNT toys what the red ranger is to Power rangers figures, no one can quite nail the look.

Oh, well sorry guys, I canceled my PO and just ordered a second s7 Tyrannosaurus dinozord. Either way they get my money.

I don't get why either. The OG toy/cartoon look wasn't even terribly complicated.

We knew they were not going for a cartoon accurate look, but they could've based it off of the image on the blister card for instance.

Huh? I'd say multiple figures have nailed it (LC and SHF specifically), but I'm also not a SUPER stickler about that kinda thing

Either way, I did a poor MS Paint edit on the pics, and it is indeed the eyes making it look weird. When they're in the right place, it looks MUCH MUCH better.

This edit is atrocious, so I apologize, but this is where the eyes SHOULD be. poormspaintedit.png

I'll have to disagree with the red ranger comment. The SH comes closest but its still off.

    Anyway, I digress.
Looking forward to your April edit, though. Im sure one of the customizers on here might wanna tackle that as a project.
