OMG. Remakes of childhood toys shouldn’t stir this much joy in me, but I’m elated! Instabuy! (And then a 9mo wait until release) so, Krang, Leo, Leatherhead...and? Another “good guy” I’d assume...Ace? A frog?...Usagi?!?
Irma didn't show up till season 2?? wow, I thought she was there from the start... picked up the 4pack of Undercover Turtles at Target today (last one there) and saw a couple of Frogs and Baxters too I remember Playmates was pretty incestuous with their Turtles line swiping elements of design or play-action from other Playmates properties (they took the Ronin Warriors and made Turtle versions...the Star Trek and Universal Monster Turtles I think they even did Exo-Squad style Turtles and of course the Mutations line was a take on the Transformers
Oh, Leatherhead? Cool. The toon/classic toy isn't my favorite incarnation of the character, but there is something charming about him in a goofy way. I'm in. So far he'll be the only figure I get from wave 4 since I've got Neca's Android Krang and I have zero interest in Samurai Leo.
good point...Rat King? Traag? I’d happily take either! I’m really curious to see Leatherhead’s posture. I’m assuming it will mimic the toy like everything else has - that really made him unique back in the day.
my list of figures I’d *really* want from them is actually pretty small at this point: Rat King, General Traag, Triceraton, Ace, Usagi, and Ghengis Frog I think. I bet one of them is the final one for this wave, which would leave 5 more...given we seem to get a turtle per wave and there are other characters than just these, getting all of them is still a few waves off most likely. They do seem to be working to get those first several years of releases out though. I’d probably go for Slash, Android Krang, and undercover Don...maybe Scumbug as well, but they’re less “essential” to my collection.
Irma was almost there from the start. Season 1 was only 5 episodes, and Irma first appeared in the very first season 2 episode, so episode 6 overall. So, yeah, she very nearly was there from the start. April, Vernon, & Burne only had 5 episodes on her. You wouldn't happen to be able to grab those Frogs for me and others here, would you?
I wonder how likely it'll be that Leatherhead's hat will be removable? Definitely in for him and Krang. Don't have enough attachment to the various turtle variants, though it would be nice to get those straight swords for Leo. Maybe someone will sell the sprue and I'll try to paint em. For my wallet's sake I hope there's no one else I want in wave 5, though if we get Slash, Rat King, Usagi, a Triceraton, Tokka, Rahzar, or Super Shredder then I'm totally in. I've realized where my heart lies with the Turtles, and it's the volume 1 Mirage series and Turtles in Time. So I basically want any character that appeared in either of those.
Unfortunately, it doesn't look like they can do Usagi just yet as they said the owner of the IP had licensed it out to another company or something for the time being. In one of their more recent interviews, S7 addressed that they're trying to work it out so that they can make Usagi as he appeared in the TMNT toyline. So, yeah, not likely to get an Usagi announcement anytime soon, but hopefully they can work something out.
given how close everything has been to the toys so far, I expect it to be fairly horizontal. That would be a plus for me, personally, to the point where I probably would pass if he weren’t. I actually thought they may not tackle him because of his posture. I wonder how it will look packaged though.
