yeah the art makes her look pretty good on the eyes, the prototype looks like an old Asian nail worker you seen in a mall somewhere also i wonder why a scowing look, she never did that in the show or toy as far as i know, if anything they should give her a scared look
Besides the slight differences in sculpt on both leather heads, I do prefer the aesthetics on the turtles in time one. Articulation wise, Im not sure if they made his abdomen longer or made his vest shorter but there's a definite improvement. I also like that he has actual boots and has cut/swivel joint there.
Is there any difference in the neck articulation between the two? That’s probably my only gripe about this new Leatherhead...there isn’t much side to side rotation.
The reviews I've seen had the same paint rub revealing flesh colored plastic underneath. I just checked mine and it's black paint over the navy plastic so I'm wondering if there was a running change. My Rocksteady has the same paint rub on the ankles revealing the flesh colored plastic under the brown paint. Other than that, the shoulder joints on Rocksteady, Bebop, and Leatherhead have bad paint rub. I'm wondering if it's because I pre oiled them causing the paint to soften up? On another note, the hook on Leatherhead's belt unpegged only to be held on by paint on the other side so I glued it back in. I'm kind of glad that these little parts aren't moulded in. Otherwise, these would be clean breaks.
I'd buy a figure that looked like the concept art. The S7 April captures the ugly aesthetics of 1990's female figures a little too faithfully.
The artist render is more visually appealing i think because of the proportions. Not that April needs to be very busty and curvy but she wasn't exactly ugly either. The only issue with the drawing is it is very knock kneed. Not sure why they drew it with ger looking like she is doing the pee pee dance.
They'll probably just ship both in their loot crate boxes, I doubt they over pack multiples. That's not what the Super7 line is, they're not doing toon at all, just toy. They won't make anything that looks like that drawing, it's not the aesthetic they are going for. Sucks NECA's April is wonky. I don't get the preorder for the Casey Jones mask, that's been available forever and has had multiple releases. I also don't know why they aren't doing the April/Casey Jones sets, they're basically out at the same time as Metalhead.
yeah but that NOV ship date for an AUG preorder ouch, i mean i get it factory working on other stuff right now but sheesh.....still will prob be in hand before S7 Metalhead though lol
Funny enough, I can't remember a time during the cartoon where April sneered like that. A alternate head with a old fashion cloth gag would probably be more accurate.
Head articulation is the same. Though I didnt have to heat up or lube any of the joints on the turtles in time version. The jaw opens and closes smoothly without resistance as with the cartoon version.
Thanks man. I dribbled some lube into the jaw joints on mine, but it’s still a little stiff. I don’t think I was able to get it into quite the right spots. I’d be OK with a little less paint on some of these guys if it meant fewer stiff/stuck joints...
so now i'm on eBay trolling metalhead auctiongs that have best offers putting $40 with a message to the sellers of the incoming preorder no one has bit and i don't expect them to but man this is actually fun, now i really only need to find April. when does wave5 with Baxter/Splinter, Rock Lords, and Tricertons hit? then there's what 2 deluxe toons with Android Krang and the other Tricerton that we also don't have release dates for. Time to start hearing about Arcade wave 3, Pirate B&R was metioned as being a cool 2pk but nothing official. Movie side nothing other than a single release April and they've mentioned they're doing a SotO Shredder but again nothing beyond those too

Traag and Granitor look imminent. And I thought Android Krang and a Splinter/Baxter 2-pack were also scheduled for this year....unless those have been pushed to 2021. And what about the Triceratons? I don’t think I’m going for those, but some people are hyped about them. Toy Fair back in February talked about a lot of this stuff, but, after the bug hit, a lot of plans got revised, I think...lol. I just got the email. It looks like I’ll be using it tomorrow...
