Forgot about that one, maybe that's what theyre going for, but if they want my money they should release those protype Shredder and Splinter they said they had oh well. This screams "master license" flex imho

The original versions (multiple colored masks) I thought were very nice figures. They were just such a pain to buy. Playmates screwed me twice on this line.

If they really want to do something cool for fans, they could reissue Rocksteady and Bebop and uncancel April and Shredder.

The only classics figure I own is Donny. I’ve seen pics of their BB and RS, though, and they do look good. I’ll have to see if I can find pics of their April and Shredder protos. I agree that with current fan disappointment over the NECA/Target situation, right now would seem like a golden opportunity for them to reissue some of their past figures and put out anything else they might have developed. I know some people are still in the market for NECA BB and RS...those were released like 9 months ago and one would think that would be plenty of time for people to have gotten them.

Edit: Unless there’s some agreement between Playmates and NECA that would preclude such a release...I don’t know the licensing details.

Time's not the issue. They're always sold out on the website and if your Target doesn't have a NECA Brand Ambassador or whatever* you can forget those too.

    (I also wasn't fond of NECA's weird cel-shading so their stuff isn't a 1:1 replacement for Playmates.)

    * The NECA stuff sits in the electronics section with "adult collectibles." Here, that's assorted Funko Pops and that boy in a dress from Stranger Things that's been on that shelf/peg since time began. There's supposed to be somebody unofficial to straighten up that section but my tri-county area either doesn't have one or they're lousy at it. I did see Rocksteady and Bebop once but it was the usual street date song and dance from Target.

If anyone missed out on the earlier release Neca turtles and Bebop/Rocksteady, I’m selling a set at cost plus shipping(continental US only). PayPal and fees or F&F. With lot of different figures coming out, I’m downsizing my collection. Thought I’d offer it to folks in this group first. With my local tax, each set it comes to $55.88. Priority goes to someone who will take all so I don’t have to ship five different boxes. I’ll just make it a flat fee of $20 to ship all together-this includes me finding a box, taking it to the post office and shipping it. 8089481F-8AA8-4663-A8D0-846010A44B76.jpeg

I searched for April and found a bunch of pics...not sure which are Playmates actual proto and which are customs, though. Many of them looked pretty good, honestly.

i saw a lot that said "figurerealm" in the address so i figured they were custom and they looked to good to be true based on the rest of their efforts not named BB&RS (IMHO those are the best they did, and had they given them the same articulation they gave their Turtles, they'd prob be better than Neca's ver.)

Same here. I’m gonna keep checking my store down the street on a daily basis for a while. I would have expected that set to lag behind Casey and Metalhead at least a little bit.

Maybe Randy has something really special up his sleeve for later this week. My expectations are tempered...but he has already been taking steps to make this stuff easier to get.
