I dig the little Playmates guys as well. My TMNT collecting actually started out with them a couple years ago...told myself I wasn't going to spend too much on this stuff...Lol. If I had the space, I'd have some kind of diorama myself. Someday!

F'n New Guy? Lol. Welcome to TFW! You've discovered this stuff at a great time...lots of great stuff out there and lots on the way.

Figured I’d at least make my name match reality lol.

Yeah I was born in 83 and grew up on turtles big time. I remember watching the cartoons in the early mornings and the movies on VHS repeat until I had every word memorized. Wearing bandannas, making weapons and actually going outside to play (my kids don’t lol) was my everyday life. My brothers and I had the 4 original turtles which eventually became mine when they grew out of it. I lost them over the years unfortunately.

I’ve never been a collector of toys or figures. Even as the new TMNT movies came out, I saw them and thought they were cool but it never really gripped me. Then the other day at GameStop while Xmas shopping, I stumbled onto a single NECA movie Mike and nostalgia open hand slapped me in the face HARD. I bought him and started my YouTube research for the other 3.

Little did I know searching the words NECA and TMNT would have in store for me. I’ve been binging for 3 days now watching and learning. I’ve watched the pixel dans and others monster tmnt collections and have picked and chosen what I want. I’ve already gotten the NECA movie turtles and found the wave 2 turtles at my local Target. I’m now impatiently waiting on the super 7 versions to release :)

You’ve certainly come to the right place! I was born in ‘76 and watched the original toon regularly. I never had any of the toys myself back then since I had kind of grown out of toys by that time, but I loved the show and still got to enjoy the toys a bit through my younger brother. Now that they are finally producing show-accurate articulated versions of these guys, I’ve gotten hooked. There is also an android Krang body on the way from NECA (details are pretty sparse, though) which I am looking forward to...not to mention the April and Casey they showed earlier this year.

Right now I’m focusing on the turtles only but I can already see (like with bebop and rocksteady) that getting all while I can will be better for the pocketbook. If I decide later to get other characters I may pay a hefty price

… This new group of Turtle figures feel a lot more sturdy than the previous release. The foot soldiers especially. I was REALLY twisting and turning my figure to see if it would come loose like the previous foot soldier I have. This new one has held together much more nicely.

I have my movie turtles, so anything else is kinda up in the air for me...turtleswise(yea, sacrilege I know). I am pretty interested in the animated turtles rather than the playmates reissues though. As much as I did love them as a kid, the nostalgia for them isn't quite there....also, I just haven't really be out there looking.

I DO have those NECA Christmas Gremlins on the way to my house though! My first new Christmas decorations of the year lol.

My local Target got in a buttload of the new Turtle and Foot Soldier 2-packs (like a total of 4+ each) but not one Bebop/Rocksteady?
Disappointing. Hope this stock sells quickly so maybe they can try again.

They had BB&RS, they were just all bought before you got there, at the moment they're the hot seller and people are only picking them up, at both of my localish targets both have 3-4 sets of Turtles and foot, no BB&RS but I was there at mine when they had 4 of all. I think the hardest sell will be the foot, doesnt seem like people are "army building"

Had a Target gift card, so got the Foot Soldiers.
And then BF had another 20% gift coupon if you bought $50+ that day, so hoping to score BB&RS later this month.

I have the KO NECA Turtles from some years back, these new FS will go great with those.

*sigh* BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR BEBOP ANKLE JOINTS.

Thankfully I have two sets, and one of my Bebops is fine.

The thought crossed my mind, but the shelves were absolutely packed so it wasn't like there were any missing.
Which is why I found it weird.

^Thanks target.com, it took a minute for shipping but well worth the wait.

    20191202_200443.jpg

I will show some restraint and stop at 3 Foot Soldiers.
