The very obvious choice would be "get both", which is probably what will happen, to be honest. If there's one thing I definitely prefer with Neca over SHFs, it's Leo's swords. I like the wider blades, though the Figuarts swords probably don't look as glaring in person. If they want to make it real easy, Neca just has to make an April. That's all I ask.
^Wave 2 would be awesome if it were April, Jones, and Splinter all packed with a Foot Soldier + Rocksteady and Bebop. Those 6 additional figures and I'm out, maybe I would bite on some additional villains, maybe not.... The core 7 heroes and the 4 main villains with 3-5 foot soldiers and I'm a happy casual......
Jones wasn't a core character in the original show. He showed up only a few episodes. I had never read the comics and when I saw the first movie, I thought it was weird to have such a minor character have such a big role in the film. But I guess you could include him in the line since he is now known as a core character. I'd swap out a 3rd release of a Foot Soldier with Baxter Stockman (fly) How about a bigger price point Krang with Body figure. Maybe an inch larger then Shredder. Include the various things he could turn the hands into.
Yeah, I'd be happy with just an April and Splinter to go with Bebop and Rocksteady and that would be it for me. Assuming I find and buy the current Target two packs that is!
I would dig an updated android Krang with full articulation...but I’d like for him to be about the same height as the vintage 11” version. I’m a little surprised we haven’t seen more versions of him.
As someone who owned the SDCC Cartoon set, make every attempt you can to purchase these Cartoon Turtles. They're a fun, well built set of Turtles that'll be the cornerstone of your collection for years. My only advice is to inspect each Turtle's eyes before purchasing. With the SDCC set, some of the figures have derpy eyes.
Ooh. Those shots posted by Kumastyle are fantastic. I did a quick hunt today and couldn't find them anywhere -- Even with DCPI number in hand.
Went to three different Targets today and completely struck out on finding the two packs. Maybe they’re not in my area yet.
I went to a few different states and couldn't find them. I haven't heard of any other sightings either, but with Neca that's not surprising. I found Ahab well ahead of a lot of people. I'd say I found him almost a month before people reported sightings.
Yeah, there was at least one person (maybe two) on the action figure subreddit on Reddit, that had found them and posted pictures, but I’m wondering if right now they just hit in one area or a few isolated areas. I’m in northern Missouri. Was looking around the St. Louis area today, and like I said, no luck here. I’ve got a friend out close to the San Francisco area who’s going to look out there for me. I’ll post if he has any better luck out there.
Based on the scalping on eBay at the moment, they appear to be arriving on the east and west coasts...
Can’t believe these are already out. I’m still hunting down the movie versions (two down so far, but I cannot find a Raphael or Leo with good eye paint so I’m still looking) Guess I’m gonna end up passing on the cartoon ones. I’ve been buying too much and one set of turtles is gonna have to be enough. Want the villains though.
I never thought of that. In the original stories, Casey and April became almost like the brothers god parents. They were a family, the four brothers, splinter april and case, and then Casey later (after breaking up with April) had a partner/wife to be that died, and April and Casey go on to raise the orphaned kid of that deceased lady as their own. The core of any Turtles story is family and responsibility. Of course later stories play more fast and loose with what aspects of the turtles are emphasized. It would be kind of hilarious to see the Murakami-Wolf 1987 cartoon Dirty Harry style nutbag Casey in other media. He's jut a lovable lunatic, with no depth to him. Quite different to the comics version who matures and has to deal with shit like paying bills as well as busting heads.
I think that 3 prong thing that comes with Krang is a stool he used in the first few episodes before getting his body. Flip it so the prongs are facing down.
I’m not a big TMNT fan but I do like them and am a big comic book fan and collector so I would take any Eastman/Laird style. The #1 look would be cool for what it represents.
