Remember a decade ago where there were plans to make an adaptation of the DC story the Judas Contract? Well looks like it's finally happening only it's set in the New 52 animated universe which depending on your view on the New 52 animated universe may be either ok or terrible.

I'm looking forward to this since I really enjoyed the Justice League vs Teen Titans movie.

 

Anything that puts Nightwing in the spotlight is good with me

 

I appreciate that it looks like Dick will be heavily involved with this, but I still really wish they were doing a faithful adaptation, rather than making it a part of the new 52 movies. This is one of those stories that, imo, deserves the same kind of treatment that The Dark Knight Returns got. Not in that it should be two parts, but the quality, accuracy, and level of detail...

The trailer was really starting to get me exited, I was starting to think that they had actually left Damian out of it... and then the last scene in the trailer happened... I want to hope that this means he'll have a very minor role in the movie, but I doubt that'll be the case... He's most likely Slade's entire reason for working with Blood.

 

We won't get faithful, they would have to pay Perez and Wolfman royalities. If they change the story they can get away with screwing the creators.

Well that sucks... I wonder if this factored into them canceling the animated adaptation of TJC they were going to do back in 2006.

 

No they were still doing royalities back then, some executive thought if it wasn't Batman or Superman it wouldn't sell well after Wonder Woman didn't perform up to expectations tanked it after pushing Judas Contract back a few times. They planned a Toy line to go along with it(which did come out) and rumors was Wolfman had done a script for it and Perez had helped with designs.

DC's animation is so. Freaking. Boring.

 

That's what I've said since JL: War, but DC Animation keeps surprising me sadly....

 

I've found that to be the case of their animated series(es) over the last five years or so. ESPECIALLY Young Justice. But I've been, for the most part, entertained by their DC Universe animated movies line during that time.

 

I think you posted the wrong trailer. You said this trailer was for THe Judas Contract. I don't know what that was, but it sure as hell wasn't The Judas Contract.

 

A Little fact about this Movie, Deathstroke is Voiced by Miguel Ferrer who's casting was eerily announced on the same day as his Death.

 

Yet more proof that Paul Levitz is a great man.

I'd rather watch a TTG adaptation of TJC...

 

Seems the prologue or a flashback scene has been released.

To me this is more fun and interesting than what the actual movie looks like, put in the deathstroke, jericho and brother blood story aspects in here to and it'd be solid. Plus Raven and Cyborg.

Wish dc just went back to making stand alone movies and not this crappy new 52 animated universe they've conceived.

 

IDK, Beast Boy voiced by anyone besides Greg Cipes just sounds off to me. I'll give it a shot though.

 

Yeah, too bad we already know the movie won't be sticking with this earlier version of the Titans.

Wonder Girl fricken Wondergirl shows up for 5 seconds at the end. We see more of Bumble Bee than her. We see more of ...Kevin Smith...yes we see more of a animated Kevin Smith than we do Wonder Girl who was featured heavily in the original story

Once again Damian is given more spotlight than needed, we never see Deathstroke's origin or his family.No Jericho or his Mother who in the original, team up with Nightwing to take down Slade (His Father/Her Husband). The best part of the original story line. There is no Nightwing origin like the original. Deathstroke has more of a vendetta against Damien than he does Nightwing. Why the hell is Damien even in this, replace him with Wonder girl or Wally. Both would have made more sense. Speedy would have made more sense. They have Wally at the beginning, but he's not in the rest of the story. They once again try to make Terra sympathetic missing the point that the original was either a Sociopath or a Psycopath. She faked being nice, and the original did a much better job convincing people than this version. Yet they still sneak in the slutty nightwear scene with her,but again it doesn't work well because she isn't as nuts as the original story line.

Just read the original version, this one ruins it. DC please Please STOP pushing New 52 movies, especially when they replace old stories. They get worse every movie. There is a reason why you had to do Rebirth. This is one of the most famous storylines from the comics,probably the most famous titans story period, and you took most of the best characters and best parts out of it. Most of this is as bad as the extra story parts they added to the killing joke.

Thank goodness the next one is based on BTAS and written and directed by someone who knows what he's doing.

Go back to what made me like the old Direct to DVD's take famous stories from the comics, make the as close as possible to the comic, and animate them.
