He knocked down and beat a 73 year old man. Another punk ass kid that us taxpayers have to pay for!! This little punk deserves every bit of punishment.

 

Sorry, I thought about changing the title, but I felt it would have lost a person's need to enter this thread.

Of course I read it. That's why I didn't do a synopsis of the article and try to sway a poster's opinion.

It was expected one would click the article link to get more details. I thought common sense was a given.

 

All i know if it had been my Grandfather on the receiving end of this crime i'd want the judge to throw the book at these thugs too.

Reaction upon reading the article: I don't feel sorry for him assaulting and robbing an old man, and and slightly humored by the piss-ass amount of cash he managed to get.

My preferred outcome for this incident would have been the old man blowing those kids away, but since he's in NY, he didn't really have that option legally. Just like all these "teen" mob attacks you see in the news so much these days, a few well placed rounds would bring that shit to an end real quick. Thankfully I live in a "shall-issue" state.  

 

I voted indifferent before reading the article but after reading it I want to change my vote a yay.

Maybe I'm a bit extreme in my views but anybody who feels it's right to knock down a 73 year old man deserves a charge like this. I don't see how the amount changes the crime "assaulting and robbing a 73 year old man" enough to warrant a different sentence.

 

Why would they need to enter a thread? Or rather I should be asking, why would you want them to enter a thread under false pretenses?

Shouldn't the idea be to give people the important details first, and then have that drive them to find out more?

I mean no offense at all, man. But I see this happening with greater frequency and I'm reminded of tabloids with false titles or headlines meant to sell copies.

I voted other as while I feel the punk deserved a stiff sentence I do not see what purpose marking him as felon for the rest of his life would serve. That said if he doesn't change his ways he would likely become one on his own if he was given break here.
